It's end of the year and almost everyone at work seems to be in a festive mood, so 3 of us decided to have an early Christmas lunch at Ichiban Boshi. My colleagues had the Unagi Tofu Wazen set and Sukiyaki Wazen set. Both sets looked like good feasts to me but I didn't try any of it hehe. My Menchi Katsu & Croquette Curry set ($12.90++) was enough to keep me occupied. My set came with a bowl of tuna salad, a plate of rice with pork katsu and croquette slices and plenty of curry in a saucer, as well as a bowl of miso soup. The pork katsu and croquette were fried crispily, but I didn't feel that they were too oily when I sunk my teeth into them. The curry was just of the right thickness and taste. Only minus point was the tuna salad had greens that I didn't appreciate as it had a slight bitter taste, don't know what to call those greens though. I had to eat the greens together with the small bits of tuna to mask the smell.
If you enjoy Japanese curry, you can try this the next time you go to Ichiban Boshi. I think it's quite a reasonable set with a not-so-heavy price tag.
