As a North American living in Singapore I have to admit I was pretty happy when Applebee's came to Singapore - finally a place for good chicken fingers, riblets and Tex-mex food! Well, I was walking past Applebee's today on the way to Fair Price Finest and noticed their new lunch sets -- a half dozen classic choices with a soft drink for $8.80 NET. I was hungry and when I saw that I could get Caesar Salad with Steak for just $8.80, I decided to try it.

I arrived around 11:45 ahead of the lunch crowd, and my meal arrived in less than 10 minutes. It was the perfect portion for lunch with lots of salad and shredded parmesan cheese and medium-well done steak. The steak wasn't particularly hot, but that might have been intentional since it's on the salad and you don't want it to cook the lettuce! It was quite good and I'd definitely order it again. I would like if it came with garlic bread, too! (and would be willing to pay me)

For $8.80 including an iced tea, this is an amazing deal and I'll probably give Applebee's another try for lunch -- they do have chicken fingers now!
