Men-ichi Kyoto Tonkotsu Ramen is one of the restaurants under RES chain of restaurants. There is 3 outlets in Singapore and one of them is in northpoint shopping mall. It is known for ramen with various soup bases. Being New Year's Eve, the restaurant is quite crowded. We start the meal with sushi.
It is salmon belly sushi, topped with flying fish roe, spicy cod roe mayonnaise, and spring onion. The fish tastes quite smooth and fatty down the throat.
The maki has crunchy texture with a hint of wasabi.
For main, we shared
which consists of mini paitan tonkotsu ramen, roast pork fried rice, and gyoza (3pcs). For paitan tonkotsu ramen, its white tonkotsu broth is made with vegetables, seaweed and shrimps to bring out the umami in the broth. Tastes quite milky and rich. The fried rice is full of meat and crab meat.
