I’m not sure about you guys, but when I think of Marche, I think of rosti – lovely, fragrant, pan-fried strips of potato made into a pancake-like dish. In fact, when I think of rosti, I get Marche too. There are pretty synonymous. But next time you hit Marche, try out something other than their rosti! But next time you hit Marche, try out something other than their rosti! My friends and I did just that, and shared their pork knuckles with a helping of mash potatoes. Pretty darn good! Not counting the excellent-done similar fare I sampled at Paulaner Brauhaus. Okay, it was a tad dry; but the meat was still well-done and flavourful. The mash potatoes did not taste like it was made from powder too, so you can be sure you’re getting the real deal.
To top off the meal, I suggest going for the root / ginger beers or the lime juices. Of course, real beer would be great with the pork knuckles but they were slightly too pricey for me.
Finally, the restaurant itself is a fantastic place to catch up with friends over good food. Relatively quiet and comfy, it is also great to bring kids.
Head over to the branch at 313 Somerset after a day of shopping, or to the Vivo City branch.
