Hee Kee Desserts is a familiar name to me because:1. Jurong Point is my territorial home ground.2. When it first launched, I was excited to try it out because the menu attracted me a lot. Instead of the usual ice mountains, black sesame paste and the Hong Kong/Cantonese dessert routine, they offered their own unique creations with star ingredients like mango, coconut and durian. They know dessert lovers very well: I know for sure that everyone must enjoy at least one of these things. After a few months, Hee Kee Desserts had tweaked their menu and recipes according to customers' feedback to unveil a delectable spread of 80 desserts, all hand-made by their in-house chefs! How cool is that?
Do you know? Hee Kee Desserts is an original store conceptualized by my favourite bubble tea franchise - ShareTea! They aspire to cater to every palate with a tong sui menu selection that is essence of innovation while remaining mindful of traditions. During the media tasting, the team introduced to us the top 6 Hee Kee Desserts.
Perfect for: Ladies conscious of complexion-wellbeing.
This silky beancurd with gula melaka syrup is concoction that adds a sweet touch to the usual plain white beancurd. The beancurd also tastes fresh, light and silky-smooth.
Recommended meter: 3.5/5
Perfect for: People who are nuts about coconuts.
This iconic tropical fruit is made into a refreshing dessert with rich coconut ice-cream and coconut flesh. Talk about coconuts overload? But nothing is ever enough for those who loves its rich and fragrant taste. Topped off with crushed peanuts for a light crunch, this makes for an interesting dessert. If for some reason you can't eat peanuts, there is also a Bird Nest in Coconut Milk which I've tried on a different occasion which I preferred.
Recommended meter: 3/5 (for the Peanut Crush version), 4/5 (for the Bird Nest version)
Perfect for: Everyone
Everyone I know who have tried this has nothing but praises for it! Don't be fooled by the word "cheong fun", it is not the same cheong fun skin that you eat in chee cheong fun. This dessert is a healthy steamed treat with a voluptuous mango chunk enveloped by a super-silky spongy sweet coconut-infused skin. Warning: Do not share, it's so delicious, it won't be enough!
Recommended meter: 5/5
Perfect for: Those who are looking for the durian desserts
The smoothness of the durian sauce is impressive and mixed interestingly with sago, you can be assured of an intense durian time with this dessert! Best to share as it can get a little heavy after a few sinful mouthfuls.
Recommended meter: 4/5 (only if you like durian!)
Perfect for: Those who love sugary desserts
This is a hearty dessert packed with rich durian puree and whipped cream, wrapped in a coconut-infused skin. This pancake didn't go too well with me because I am not a hardcore durian fan and prefer lighter desserts. This was too sweet and the durian taste overpowered any coconut flavours in the skin.
Recommended meter: 2/5
Perfect for: Everyone, especially those with small appetites but want to have desserts!
Another dessert that is largely appealing because it's so effortlessly good. Available in both hot and chilled versions, you can look forward to a light yet creamy and delicious dessert. It's very fragrant and easy on the stomach.
