Disclaimer My friends and I had to wait for 40 minutes for the food to be served, so we were rather unhappy with the service and the food was rather cold. I will try my best to be as unbiased as possible in this review. Flock Cafe is probably the most overhyped cafe I've ever heard about. Flock Cafe is probably the most overhyped cafe I've ever heard about. With reviews raving about how great the food is on the internet and through my dining companions' recommendations, we decided to flock over to Flock Cafe in expectation of good food.
A faraway view of the shopfrontIt took us quite awhile to find the Cafe and got reminded of the scene in the Dreammakers, where Jeanette Aw pushed an old lady in the Channel 8 TV show at the shopfront.
A beautiful greeting before entering the shopIt was a pleasant piece of artwork and I felt like this was an art-meets-food-meets-art kind of Cafe. It was REALLY crowded, but one of the female service crew there were really helpful in helping us to find a seat, even moving the heavy chairs and all. We were really famished because it was already 2pm in the afternoon.
Opening Hours at the doorApparently, Flock is open everyday! The hours extend longer on Friday and Saturday though, till 10pm.
Chalkboard with a summary of the menuIt wasn't very visually pleasant as I felt that there were too much words screaming for attention, but loved the simple font.
Menu on paper cardboardHere's the menu, its' description and the prices of the item. Gone are the days where menu comes in a book, and there aren't any photos to accompany the description, thus you can either log onto instagram or Google how their dishes look like.
Merchandise PostcardFlock sells beautifully designed postcards as well.
Polaroids of employees behind-the-scenes and popular customersI love the display of how they actually involved their employees and making them feel like a team! It's a great way to spruce up the shop interior design as well.
An overview of the items we orderedHere comes the crucial part. The verdict of the food after 40 hungry minutes. We were really famished, and got really angry and upset. 20 minutes into waiting, my friend actually went to ask if our food was ready (because the people who came after that got served with their food).. the waitress simply told us that they're preparing it, but honestly, I really believe that our order got MISSED OUT. No apologies though.

Eggs Benny ($15.90)Raw pork. I mean, bacon. We didn't really expect that, especially the fact that my friend, who ordered this, isn't a fan of pork bacon. The bacon was perhaps cooked but not very much. It tasted cold and the poached egg broke easily, the entire dish has cooled. The rocket salad that came with it as well had a weird smell too.
Eggs Sally ($14.90)This was my order. Being a huge fan of salmon and having experienced tasting ALL types of Poached eggs with salmon, my expectations came with standards. It was a huge disappointment because the salmon was so tiny and thinly sliced, and the eggs were really ... cold, it has cooled off, and the salmon had no smoky taste at all. In fact it tasted like raw sashimi. I probably won't come back to give them second chances anymore after the whole ordeal with my friends.
Big Breakfast ($19.90)We thought that Big Breakfast would have some hope, but only the chicken sausage was nice. The bread was hard and the beans were cold, it probably got left there for really long. We all felt like complaining to the manager but seeing that they were so busy, we thought that they should probably hire more staff or at least have one day off.
All in all, the Cafe was not only squeezy (we had to push the tables to exit the cafe because it was so packed), the food was really a disappointment too.
