We saw crowds going towards Cuppage at lunch hours so we decided to follow the crowd. We have heard of authentic Japanese ramen was famous at this area. This little corner shop looked like small eating places in Japan, they didn’t have extensive menu though, they serve daily set lunch, it would change from time to time and few types of ramen.

I tried set lunch and my friend ordered pork(Japanese char siew) ramen. The set lunch was quite a big portion and could easily fill one’s up. Taste wise, I would say it just so so, not so fantastic or bad. Pork slices were generous and thick compare to other Japanese restaurants, no complain on taste; soup base was a bit oily though, ramen was springy and has a strong alkaline flavour. We liked to see the Jap chef in cooking ramen, he looked serious on his job and he monitored other Singaporean chef too.

Overall tastes were OK. We would think other places serve better ramen as well as Jap lunch set in terms of taste. From our opinion, we don’t need to come down specially for their food, no harm trying though.
