I have seen the cafe here change hands several times. At times it was even vacant for a while. For this recent revamp, they have started to offer their food at slightly more affordable prices. Granted, it is of course not as cheap as the food court below. But for a cafe setting, about $7 for lunch in a more comfortable setting might be ok for some.- Entrance to the cafe on the second floor is through the small tidbit shop below which has a inner staircase- The menu- Daily home-made soup setsI th
I thought their soup sets were quite worth it but I did not fancy the soup for today, so I ordered the chicken chop instead.
The chicken chop was very tender but I was puzzled that a teriyaki-like sauce (a bit on a the sweet side) was given instead of the mushroom sauce. Fries were slightly over-fried but still ok. The side salad was "japanese-like" and was a rather nice change from the usual run-of-the-mill coleslaw given elsewhere. Generally not bad, might be back to try their soup sets on another day. Thankfully there's no service or gst charge imposed on your bill.
