I da bao some dim sum back home, I am a fan of siew mai but when I opened the box of the siew mai, I was quite disappointed with how it look. There were four pieces and the siew mai looked really pale, the yellow base looks a little white, I guess it was over steamed. I added two kinds of chilli sauce to enhance the taste. In the end, when I brought it home, the siew mai turned out to be very juicy. The meat was very tasty. on top of each siew mai, there is a prawn. The prawn was pretty large in size, it was very fresh and crunchy. the chilli sauces were both nice. there was one that was the normal chilli sauce, sweetish sour, the other one had a lot of chilli oil and chilli flakes. It was more on the spicy and saltish side. Both goes really well with the siew mai. The appearance may not be so appealing but the taste is definitely there.
