This review is long overdued. We went to Silk Road Restaurant late in October for their UOB Young Chef Creation promotion, where 6-courses dinner for two costs us $128. Quite a bargain. The set meal included the 8 treasure tea, which consists of dried longan, red dates, walnuts, tea leaves etc. Half-way through the meal, the waitress replaced a new cup of 8 treasure tea with fresh ingredients. Love it. The meal kicked off with Warm scallop with mango. The presentation is gorgeous with beautiful

The meal kicked off with Warm scallop with mango. The presentation is gorgeous with beautiful summer colours, not to mention the refreshing sweet fruity taste. The scallop is chewy and juicy too.

Shredded abalone soup with sea treasure is rich in collagen. The soup base is thick, with natural sweetness of abalone. It's good for skin complextion I reckon.

Baked cod fish with aged wine and green pepper corn is slightly disappointed. Not that the flavour is not good, but the food is served far too fast that we haven't finish the soup, hence leaving the fish on the table for long. When turned cold, the fish is not as tasty as I wish.

Seared smoked duck with eight treasure is my favourite. The dish is simple with lots of different kind of vegetables. The smoked duck is flavourful, chewy yet tender in texture.

Handmade jade noodle with spicy crab is quite mild in taste. One can taste a hint of spinach flavour in the noodle, but the broth itself doesn't have the wow factor.

Double-boiled Hashima with lily bud is such a delightful dessert. Chill and not overly sweet, one will feel good and refreshing after having this.

Overall speaking, Silk Road Restaurant is quite a beautiful Oriental restaurant with good atmosphere and attentive staffs.
