I had a craving for Japanese food but instead of going to a regular Japanese restaurant, my boyfriend and I decided to try Chiso Zanmai. We found out about it through a flyer. To be honest I did not have high expectations of it, since the lunch buffet was only $14.90++. However, we were both pleasantly surprised when we saw that the restaurant had a lovely view of the river. The buffet spread was pretty good too. The buffet spread was pretty good too. There was a tempura section - pumpkin, prawn, chicken, sweet potato.
-Japanese curry
-Tori karaage
-Chawanmushi
-Udon or cold soba
-Tonkatsu ramen or Soyu ramen
-Japanese pancake with radish
-Takoyaki
-Green tea egg tarts
Service was also prompt and fast. Even though the restaurant was nearly 70% full, the waiters manage to clear the plates off the table efficiently and food was also replenished when it ran out. I would definitely go back again!
