The set lunches at Jack's place are what we always go for when we dine at Jacks place since it is really value for money. Depending on which day you go, the set lunches will differ but they do have 4 fixed set lunches which are available on all days of the week.My parents and I ordered from the 4 fixed set lunches since the set lunch for the day did not catch our fancy. We are first served with garlic bread and soup of the day, which is chicken & barley broth. I enjoyed slurping up the carrots, onions, chicken bits in the broth. It was ok, but cream soups will always be better. However, that said, clear soups are healthier! Garlic bread was yummy as always though I wished the bread could be crispier.
Next up was our main course. My steak was cooked to medium well. I think it could be cooked a little more to the well-done side, but nevertheless, it was ok if you like your steak to be more tender. What is really great at Jack’s Place is its baked potato, topped with tartar sauce (I presume), bacon bits and spring onions (not seen in picture since I requested to have all the sauce and bacon bits in on a side plate so that it isn't so messy when I eat). The skin of the potato is always crispy as well, not to mention being very nutritionous.
Last was the dessert and coffee. Dessert was ice cream which was pretty normal since I suppose they used ordinary tub ice cream. For a price of around $17 per pax (since we got steaks), it was value for money.
