I have heard so much raves about the ramen here and a friend of ours recommended this place so I thought of bringing some friends and of course my ramen-loving bf to try out.How you can tell that it is a specialised ramen place is the small variety of food served. How you can tell that it is a specialised ramen place is the small variety of food served. There are basically 4 types of ramen--tonkotsu, shoyu, miso and crab based broth. The noodle served were also different depending on the broth. For ramen orders, they give each person an order chit where you can state the type of ramen, whether you do not want any special ingredient--ie i chose to omit extra oil, or if you don't like spring onions, bamboo shoots or seaweed you can also request on this form.

3 of us tried out the tonkotsu as it is supposed to be the signature here. I would say the broth is really thick and tasty... abit too 'porky' for me in fact; tasty nonetheless. The eggs must be given a special mention! They were done just nice and around the yolk you can still see some slimy whites.. yummm! There was one big slice of charsiew in the ramen.. ws thinly slice and tender as well.. You can even choose how springy you want your noodles to be..

Only one of my other friend tried the crab broth based and she thought it was not bad.. Another feedback was that one of them prefers the marutama ramen to the tonkotsu..

In terms of ranking.. ippudo still tops my list for the moment.
