Visited Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao on a Saturday evening and there was a looming queue at the entrance of the restaurant. Regardless, props to their highly efficient numbered queue system.We ordered their Zha Jiang Mian as well as their Xiao Long Baos.Their Xiao Long Bao was a tad larger than regular XLBs present in other restaurants but I ain't complaining! The soup was flavoursome and for some reason carried the distinct taste of the XLB's wrapping and the combination was oddly satisfy

Their Xiao Long Bao was a tad larger than regular XLBs present in other restaurants but I ain't complaining! The soup was flavoursome and for some reason carried the distinct taste of the XLB's wrapping and the combination was oddly satisfying to the palate. The ball of meat in the XLB was also proportionally larger and tender. Two thumbs up for the XLBs.
As for Zha Jiang Mian, the serving was also large and came garnished with julienned cucumbers. The sauce was a mixture of minced meat, vegetables and tofu. One would expect an entire bowl of zha jiang mian to get cloying after a while but this definitely was not the case. The cucumbers added a refreshing crunch to the rich zha jiang sauce present in the noodles.Overall, Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao is an extremely affordable place for quality Cantonese noodles and dimsum.
