Macadamia ice cream full of nuts Smile Aug 03, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

Andersons has really really high quality ice cream. The ingredients are all very premium. The macadamia and caramel one is no exception. The ice cream is full of expensive macadamia nuts. In fact the nuts are all WHOLE, not small chunks. The ice cream itself has great texture and is just sweet enough. It was a pity that the caramel taste was so subtle that it was not noticable though. A scoop costs 5.50.

Expensive japanese food! Smile Aug 03, 2013

Akashi is a well known Japanese chain brand that serves high quality food with prices to boot. One dish we ordered when we dined here was the spicy salmon maki roll. It was really delicious with fresh succulent fatty salmon sashimi wrapped in Japanese short grain rice and seaweed. The kicker was the spicy sauce which was so delicious, spicy and savory and complementing the fresh fish super well. This small roll cost about 10 dollars though. Other dishes that were worthy of mention was the delicious california roll full of creamy avocado and costing $12.

Good pie Smile Aug 03, 2013

Hans sells whole pies for you to takeaway which is what we got for a family gathering. The apple crumble pie was honestly pretty good. W heated the pie up before consuming so the apples were warm and the crumble crisp. The flavouring was good with the saucy apples being of the perfect consistency. The pastry base was also buttery and flavourful while the crumble remained crisp throughout. This whole pie costs more than $20.

Muah chee that is not outstanding OK Aug 03, 2013

There is a lot of hype around this muah chee stall with many claims that it is fantastic but honestly in my opinion it was quite average. The muah chee is very expensive comparatively, 3.50 for a medium portion which only comes with a few pieces. The special thing though it that there is a black version which I prefer. The muah chee is pretty chewy and soft but i did not find it very outstanding.

Average pastries OK Aug 01, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Bakery

Sweet tarts hong kong pastry has pretty average pastries, nothing really amazing. They are acceptable generally but nothing special. Each costs $1.20 per piece. I tried the egg tart and the siew pau. Both were okay, pastry was pretty generic not very flaky nor buttery. It was a little hard in actual fact. The egg tart custard was ok, being rather tasty and sweet enough, while the siew pau filling was savoury and tasty.
