Saw on instagram about this new thai restaurant at Jalan Riang and that really caught my attention. I've only been to Jalan Riang once for italian food and dessert + drinks at Wimbly Lu.

And so together with 3 other friends, we went to try out the food. I think we got a bit too adventurous and over order a bit! Hee! In total we had 6 dishes - Steam Seabass $32 , Tiger Weep (Beef) $24 , Morning Glory $9 , Tom Yum Seafood Soup (Big) $16.50 , Phad Thai (Small) $10 , Butter Garlic Mussel $16.50

Overall the food is good! All of us really enjoyed the dinner, food was fresh and tasty, nice environment and good service! It's only the Tiger Weep which could have been better if the beef was more tender. I'm going to try the pork neck for my next visit which seems highly recommended too!

Donuts OK Jan 12, 2014

Last month i was lucky to win 2 boxes of Dunkin Donuts (Christmas theme ) and i happily brought it to the office to share it with my colleagues! Too bad Christmas theme design donuts were not available when i redeemed it after work but no complaints since it's free so i just choose whatever is available on display.

I'm not sure if it's because i kept it overnight. The first one i ate ( chocolate coated donut ) is not very nice and soft for the dough and it was kind of dry. But when I tried the second donut which is with custard filling, it tasted much better!

Marina Bay Sands is one place i will like to avoid especially during peak hours cause it get super crowded with all the tourists and/or locals! But due to some unforeseen circumstances, i had to settle dinner at MBS with my friend.

Long queue when i reached but luckily there's a table available for us so my friend sat down first while i queue to buy food. Both of us had the same thing! Mee Rebus =) It's been quite a while since the last time i had mee rebus from Toast Box so i was happy to order this item.

It cost $8.20 for the mee rebus set meal and includes a drink! It's a pretty big portion and i love the way they did the eggs! The egg yolk is the soft soft kind i like =) Super shiok to enjoy it with my iced cold barley!

All along i always wanted to plan a visit to Boathouse. So i decide to spend the first weekend of 2014 with a nice dinner at Boathouse with a friend =) The set dinner price actually looks very reasonable and you have a choice of 3 or 4 course meal.

But i took ala carte in the end cause want to order wine too and enjoy slowly. Started off with bread which was good despite having raisins in it. I can eat raisins but not a huge fan. Service was good and attentive. And surprisingly there wasn't much crowd on a Friday night.

For my main course i had this really yummy pan roasted Atlantic sea bass $32! There was some seafood underneath it and the cauliflower puree just created a very nice overall taste. I enjoyed every bit of it! Fish was very fresh too!

Overall it was a great experience and i will love to go back again.

Custard Bun OK Jan 09, 2014

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Coffeeshop | Dim Sum

When it comes to dim sum, custard bun is one of my favourite item. I'm so used to the oozing kind so when i tried the ones from this stall, i was surprised it's not oozing at all!

But luckily taste wise it's still not too bad. The portion was decent and the skin of the bun was pretty soft. I may try out the rest of the dim sum items for my next visit as i usually come to this coffeeshop mainly for the fishball noodle which is just next door.

Even though this coffeeshop only has about 4 makan + 1 stall but it's always crowded. Worth coming back to try out the zi char stall too!
