A mainstay in Beauty World Smile Mar 10, 2011

This place serves carrot cake, and char kway teow. So whenever you go to the Beauty World Food center, this is the first thing you will smell. smile

I will always order the black char kway teow, with extra egg. The sweet sauce accentuates the taste of the egg and noodles and it taste so good. And wok hei control is goo too.

Less than $3 for smallest portion order. smile

I was quite dismay to see that this place has closed down, part of the revitalization project for Capitol Building.

All the shops have been told to go. I guess this is a good thing. The Capitol building and theater have been left undeveloped for a long time, about time.

Anyway I was trying to buy some bread home on the way to the bus stop, and back then I remember buying their green tea cupcakes, and their cheese ham.

Quality of breadtalk is consistent across stores. Quite ok for me. smile

I will pass by this bread talk and toast box whenever I come to Centerpoint at the basement on my way to Cold Storage.

It's at a strategic location just next to Mcdonalds and now at the escalator going down to the food court.

I would buy the pork floss bun, and the whole chocolate almond flake bun whenever I am if they have it.

I also ate at the toast box, quite nice milk tea with butter toast.

Expensive Thai Place OK Mar 10, 2011

I was here back in 2009, and I remembered that it was divided into two sections. The Bar and grocery section and the dining section.

If you like a romantic and largely quiet environment, you might like it here. The keyword here is dim lighting and dark wood table and sitting area. heh.

But prices are rather expensive, $20+ dollars for mango salad anyone? Inside is just mango slices, and some cucumber strips. I don't know why but my friend will order mango salad whenever he visits a thai restaurant. haha.

One item I would recommend is their meat skewers. Chicken, Beef. Nicely grilled and very juicy and succelent, and ok value for money at $4 per stick. Do try it.

Their Tom Yum Kung is also good, spicy and with a touch of sourness. Well Balanced. and of course spicy.

And if you feel bored waiting for the food to arrive, just stroll over to the grocery section to find some thai vegetables and sauces to make your own thai food at home.

It's at a the quieter side of Rail Mall up a slight slope nearer to the train tracks.

I just live up the road from here, so I do come to Rail Mall once in every few months.

I love apple strudel! Some years ago, it was such a fad. Almost everywhere, you can see outlets selling apple strudel. Since then, many shops have closed and yet this one still remains.

This store is more like like a kiosk for takeaways and deliveries. There are no seating areas for you.

There's a glass display where you can see all the strudels on display. I usually order half a loaf.

Best eaten when COLD. The sugar icing on top and the creamy custard filling is so nice and fresh. It melts in your mouth, and you feel like you are in snow country. Try it!
