For detailed review with pictures, please visit http://foodesteem.blogspot.com/2013/02/nyonya-curry-puff-cafe.html

Not really a cafe, but more like OCK type, where people just buy and walk off.

I reached thee somewhere in the late afternoon, and there wasn't choices left as they have quite a few variety of puffs. Thus, I can only go with the normal ones. They also have other snacks like otah, popiah, fishball, waffle sticks, etc. and also comes in sets, like otah with drink at a cheaper price definitely, which ideally seems to be targeting students.

Their puffs are generally priced at $1.30/puff. Tried their curry chicken puffs, and black pepper chicken. The former looks more like the normal potato curry puff we have, and black pepper seems diminishing when being compared. Filling is not as much, and it isn't that delicious.

I also had their drinks which looks more like juice than
milkshake. But given a taste, the drink is not bad, and the fruit flavor that I had chosen is quite strong. Given another visit, I would like to try their other unique flavors...

For detailed review, please visit my food blog.

Found this by chance, and decided to give it a go, plus its simple yet classic appearance has attracted me.

It has a variety of cuisines for choices, thou the variety in each is not that wide. Had the Nonya Curry Chicken Bolo for $16. I quite like this dish in the beginning, because of its Nyonya taste being a tad spicy and sour at the same time. But halfway through, it bothers my appetite.

Tamada Ramen for $12. Char Siew comes in big slices which is plus for them. But bamboo shoots seems to have a weird taste as i'm a fan of bamboo shoots, and soup is not flavorful at all.

Overal lI would say place is worth going, but food wise is not up to expectations. Perhaps a good place for drinks, in consideration.

Place isnt hard to find, provided you knew where is Plaza 8 building. Shop space is small, and probably doesnt even look like a place that provides steamboat services.

Food wise isnt too bad, but cannot be consider good either. Steamboat food was rather average, while dimsum is not fresh, and does not comes in traditional steamer baskets. But their service is fast, and crew is polite. If you are not the fussy type, this might just be the place for you.

It might be worthy if you visit this place with vouchers from discount sites. For normal days, food might be a little pricey for their food quality. Their set meals seems pretty cheap for a 3 course meal. Might intend to give it a try thou.

Environment is cosy and interesting. Theme of the cafe is decor like a house, with living room, car porch, study room, etc. An interesting place to spend your time at with a bunch of your girl friends.

Food wise is pretty average. Not much of a "wow" factor when it comes to food. But for drink wise, I would recommend their ice blended drinks.

J65 is an all-day dining buffet restaurant that provides mainly South-East Asian cuisine, and some are what I have never seen before in other buffet places.

The overall ambience is awesome and it widens your appetite! The variety served can make someone go woah and suddenly feeling helpless in where to start from. If you are a meat lover, this is definitely one of the paradise!

There are of course seafood and even for those greeny lovers! It's rare to see a section full of vegetables, and is definitely a hit among the health-conscious group. Mind you, the salad is not just normal salad, but different combinations for you to choose from!

The seafood spread is unlimited and worth just going there for it. All of it are placed on a bed of ice to preserve its freshness and overall taste!

There are of course also sushi and sashimi! For the real cooked dishes, where some might want to scoop it directly from a warm pot, you are in for a treat too.

Just by a pillar, several pots surround it, and all looks appetizing and it's hard to decide which one should you start on.

What really interest me is a couple of steps down to another area, there is this kitchen-like section ready to chop roast pork belly, roasted chicken, steamed chicken, and also char siew! They also have chicken rice, which rice comes in form of a ball! I had a similar experience with chicken rice ball, just when it first started to get popular in Singapore, but I have to say J65's is so much better.

Just beside it, there is a laksa store, which cook not one, but a total of 6 different flavours of laksa! Where else can you find this in a buffet restaurant? If I have 6 stomachs, I will gladly try each of them!

Moving on to desserts, they have the usual slice of cakes, ice creams, and also nyonya kuih! I can't leave without having it when there is one.

Overall, the variety is not limited, and you might want to leave a little more space than usual for the last part of the buffet!

J65 does have wine pairing, but if you are looking for something non-alcoholic, they have carrot juice, fruit punch, and even soya bean with grass jelly packaged in a bottle! This is something interesting I have not seen elsewhere, in terms of not just the packaging but also the drinks!
