Dinner Out!  Smile Nov 30, 2012

Green View Cafe is one of my past lunch places when I was still working in town. I try brought my friends to Green View Cafe to try some of their nice dishes! Thursday - pig intestine soup! However, its sold out! SAD. In the end, I ordered handmade noodles ($4) while my two friends ordered seafood horfun ($4.50) and minced meat mee sua ($4). The serving was generous and the price was reasonable in town area. Do come here for your lunch or dinner if you wanna have some cheap and really nice food - can feel that you are home for dinner! smile

If you haven't been to any Thai restaurant or only been to Thai Xpress and this is your first time to Porn's to try out Thai food, you will likely think that their Thai food is more authentic. We ordered Tom Yum Goong aka TYG (go for the $12.90 one and you get it served in a steamboat), minced pork cooked with basil leaves and phad thai. Firstly, TYG is not for the WEAK stomach. I have to emphasis it here because you wouldn't want to make your stomach suffer the aftermath just because your mouth can't stop savouring the really spicy and sour TYG! However, it is disappointing to see that we were only give EIGHT TINY pieces of prawns (all peeled). We thought we would get fresher prawns (I hope they improve on this if not, $12.90 is actually quite expensive for a pot of soup with few pieces of main ingredients)/ Minced pork cooked with basil leaves was priced at $8.90 without rice. Totally disappointing dish. You can get similar or even better taste at the Thai stall at Far East Plaza basement for a price of $5 which comes with rice and egg. Phad Thai was tasty (opps, without photo).

SUPER SPICY & SOUR!

Tea Time!  OK Nov 30, 2012

Having heard so much about Forty Hands from friends and various media sources, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday afternoon. We managed to get a seat but in the non-aircon section. Ordered cafe latte and a slice of choco tart (can't remember the exact name). The latte tasted slightly bitter - think its too strong. The choco tart was semi-sweet, good for those who prefer not-so-sweet dessert. However, I thought it would taste even nicer if it is warm (the tart was served cold). Saw other people ordering their main course (also heard from my friend that their breakfast set meal is nice), you can give it a try if you are planning to explore the tiong bahru area. smile

Lunch Out!  Smile Nov 30, 2012

My first visit to try this Coco Ichibanya - the world best curry. I would agree so! For the first time after eating Japanese style curry, I actually crave for more of it. I ordered the sausage curry rice which costs $11.00. As I picked my rice portion to be half size, the price was reduced by $1.00. Cool right? You can tailor your own portion and choose the level of spicy-ness. I chose the "SUPER HOT" - 2nd hottest range. Hmm... to me, i think it was still not spicy yet but my colleagues felt that it was very spicy. They chose "mild hot" and "hot" for their portions.

Worth a try if you have not been here to eat yet. Reasonable pricing. Trying new food can keep you young! smile

Tea Time!  OK Nov 30, 2012

As a coffee addict, I was contemplating between getting ShareTea Winter Melon Milk Tea or having a cup of coffee. Decided to opt for coffee since it will satisfy my daily craving! Hmm.. ordered cafe latte. Staff was very polite. However, i thought the coffee tasted similar to Mc Cafe's latte. Well, it comes with a thicker milk taste and smooth. For a price of $3.80 per cup, I think it is good enough. Thankfully its not priced too high. I like the shop name too, Huggs!
