Western Food :) Smile May 26, 2013

BBQ Chicken Daily Set Meal can be considered a budget restaurant should you have cravings for Western food. They have 5 choices for their set meal which comes with a main course and a drink for $12.90 nett. The environment wise is rather decent with booth seats. The service crew at Northpoint is a bit slow perhaps due to the lack of manpower.

We have choosen this 2 sets for dinner.

Mushroom Chicken Steak with french fries and coleslaw for side dish. The chicken steak sauce is alright, blends well with the chicken. However, the chicken skin is rather fattening. Threw away some of it. sad

Roasted Cajun Half Chicken with fries and coleslaw too. With a half chicken in quite a small plate, I will suggest diners to request for another bowl to separate out the chicken for better enjoyment of food. smile

Tze Char for Dinner Smile May 26, 2013

Had dinner with my grandma as she came to my house for stay-over. smile Queued for quite sometime before we got a seat. It's the restaurant policy that all must be there before we can be assigned a table. The service was rather slow in this sense as it makes many people having to stand outside the restaurant.

These are the dishes which we have ordered.

Long bean as our vege dish. So-so.

Fish maw soup. Good to try it out. smile

Oat meal prawns. Liked their oat meal, mixed with rice is yummy! smile

Pork ribs.

Prawn paste chicken wings. It is still lacking in its taste. Should have ordered other chicken dishes instead.

Fried cuttle fish.

Had vouchers for Food for Thought Cafe last time and tried out the outlet at Queen Street. This time, over at Botanic Garden, a different setting, different menu, a total different experience. smile Excited.

Hot chocolate for myself. It's a large cup top with marshmellow. Super sweet, I like though drink it once in a while. smile

Slow roasted pulled pork with fries and rootbeer. Straight cut fries is very filling. The pork is well marinated with special sauce.

Garlic prawn and chargrilled brocolli linguine. It is cooked in aglio olio style. Nice! ;)

Public holiday and a long weekend. Headed down to Bugis area for shopping and dinner. smile
Have not been there for quite some time...
The Bugis+ which was used to be Iluma has become more happening with more shops and restaurants which are worth going in and giving it a try. tongue

Spotted Bonchon chicken at the first floor along the restaurant street. There were some groups of people having their meals there and all ordered fried chicken. Hmm, worth giving it a try. The chefs marinate the chicken with a special sauce which was Korean style.

The front cover of the menu of Bonchon Chicken. They have franchise at various countries, now then I know. Haha! smile

Utensils on the table. Wet tissue. A metal bin, for us to throw the chicken bones in. Cute. smile

The highlight of the dinner: 6 wings + 2 drumsticks, this is the smallest portion. Additional rice at $2 each. For small appetite people, I guess just eating the chicken is enough.

One bite on the chicken, it is really addictive. Ordered the non-spicy ones. Its a mixture of sweet and slightly salty, with the crisp in the mouth. Taste like korean chips? It's perfect. Much better than KFC. Considered the best chicken wings.

We ordered scallion pancake which consists of scallop, prawn and squid. It tastes much like roti prata with minimal seafood fillings within. It tastes good with the teriyaki sauce on top. Quite filling too! smile The plate which they used to serve was rather special, look at the picture above. smile

Ramen at Funan IT Mall Smile May 23, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

It's friday and took the day off books and head down to Funan IT Mall to look at some electronic gadget.
Saw a ramen restaurant located at the far end of the mall.
The interior deco of the restaurant is made Japanese like, with wooden tables and benches.
It wasnt a really big restaurant with only about 30 people seating area.

I ordered the seafood ramen with chicken soup based. The seafood consists of prawns, scallops, sotong. They are fresh seafood. Reasonable pricing. smile

Will be back again to try their ramen with different soup bases. smile
