Contrary to other reviews about this stall, i think mine wasn't very nice.
As much as I think this bowl of noodles is relatively cheap (S$2.50), I am going to say I will never visit this stall anymore. Part of the noodles are uncooked so you'll see fresh dough revealing. The tomyum soup was mediocre and there was no special thing about it. The vegetables taste raw and everything was real bad. I had reviewed on another handmade noodles stall, so you can check on my profile to view. That one is better.

Nonetheless, I agree the auntie was very cheerful and chatty.

The Audacious Cakery, a newly opened bakery startup finds itself nestled at Everton Park, a stone throw away from Outram Part MRT Station. Step inside to enjoy the aesthetically amazing display of cupcakes right before the store front.

To put everything into a simple sentence - the cupcakes are irresistible.
And to put it into context, if I were to compare these cupcakes to that of Twelve Cupcakes, my vote goes to Audacious Cakery for their ultra moist, soft and non-crumbly cupcake texture.

To top it up, literally, is a thick yet smooth whipped cream that are twisted by Sharryl (chef) to suit Singaporean's taste preferences. They are not too greasy and do not give me a 'gelat' (nauseous) feel after eating so much of the cream. Natural flavours are added for different themed cupcakes.

Chocolate Souffle
Made from dark chocolate, the soufflé centre gives it a light yet chocolaty punch. Served with a crunchy chocolate biscuit base, it can be served warm or chilled.

Picture below definitely suggests you to slight warm the tart to enjoy the best out of it. Just enjoy how the melted chocolate oozes out of the tart under a warm temperature. The chef has very thoughtfully sprinkled crushed nuts (not sure if its almonds, can't recall) to add a texture to the thick gluey chocolate lava.

Lemon Meringue
Luscious tangy lemon tart made with French churned butter on a biscuit base

Exotique
Mango and coconut mousse on a jaconde sponge with fresh mango & papaya bits

Exotique was one of my favourite for its tangy aftertaste due to the papaya and mango bites within the cake itself. It also has a trace of coconut taste but it somehow got covered up by the mangos. Nonetheless, try this if you aren't really a sweet-tooth, but rather a sour-lover like me. Okay admit it, we are so 'sour'!

Foret Noir, alcoholic
Valrhona dark chocolate, mousse, Kirsh, soaked cherries and Kirsh Cream on a dark Valrhona chocolate genoise

In layman terms, it resembles black forest cake with an alcoholic element in it. As a non-alcoholic lover like me, I was pleasantly surprised to be addicted to this precious piece because the alcohol content was not very strong.

Monet, alcoholic
Orange mousse with champagne, served with a tart raspberry compote on a Cointreau soaked sponge studded with red currants

here's the different cupcakes they have:

Standard
$4 each, $22 for 6, $42 for 12

Matcha*
Black Sesame
Raspberry Devil’s food cake
Chocolate Ganache
Strawberry

Special
Add 0.5 cents

S’mores
Lemon Raspberry*
Valrhona Chocolate Cream Cheese*

*popular demand
And I highly recommend their matcha cupcake if you're a true blue green tea lover.

Indeed authentic thai food Smile Sep 16, 2013

Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

This time we’re here at Baan Khun Nai Authentic Thai Cuisine, to try out some of their well-known dishes like Tom Yum Soup and Green Curry Chicken. The chef comes from the Northern part of Thailand and thus the food served here are surely authentic!

Full review on: http://www.chiamhuiy.com/2013/09/food-review-baan-khun-nai-authentic.html

Boy was I bought over by this Lychee Iced Tea. It gives a very fruity taste thanks to the real lychee placed in the drink. Then again, there was a slight tea bitterness in it, which perfects the drink in good balance.

To start off a sumptuous spread of dinner, we had the Mango Salad (S$7) that does nothing but triggers my hunger even more. The sourness in this dish was definitely the addictive factor. I love the toppings of cashew nuts to add a nutty flavor to the spicy and sour Mango Salad. Comes with cherry tomatoes, peanuts and topped with dried shrimps which added a crunch to it.

Glass noodle salad (S$8), also known as the Thai Vermicelli Salad was another wonderfully prepared appetizer. In fact, it can easily act as a main considering the bountiful amount of seafood drowning the vermicelli under. All the seafood ingredients look so juicy and huge, I can't stop drooling by looking at the photo.

The Non-spicy Grilled Pork (S$11) certainly stole the limelight that night, especially when it was wiped out almost immediately upon serving. The specialty of this dish was none other than the Special Thai Sauce that was prepared by the Thai Chef herself.

Looks like the sauce was very meticulously prepared with Thailand herbs and spices, which the owner explained that they were imported from Thailand directly.

Who doesn't know about Tom Yum Soup (S$8)?
As usual, the soup comes with abundant seafood that fills the soup up to the brim. To my surprise, Baan Khun Nai's version of Tom Yum Soup seems to be a little towards the sour side, rather than extreme spicy. But for those non-spicy taker, probably don't try your luck with it because some of us managed to feel the spiciness after a few mouthfuls of delicious soup.

The Olive Fried Rice (S$8) was nothing but fragrant. The fragrance that comes from the stir-fried olives caught many scooping spoonfuls of fried rice to their own plate. I like how the rice are prepared to a slight toughness. It wasn't too soggy nor moist.

Another delectable dish was the Claypot Tung Hoon with prawns (S$16). The vermicelli has very much locked in the savoury taste from the soy sauce, giving it a brownish colour. Compared to the glass noodle salad, the vermicelli (Tung Hoon) is much softer and less crunchy, yet maintaining the moisture in it.

All in all, I would say this is another favourite that night! The Dry Curry Pork (S$8) was incredibly tasty. It wasn't too liquid and the pork very much locked in the curry flavor, impressing all the meat and curry lovers out there.

And lastly, the dessert.
When we talk about dessert plus Thailand, we immediately think of Mango Sticky Rice.
The Mango Sticky Rice at Baan Khun Nai was served very differently. The Mangos are slightly chilled, while the rice are thoughtfully heated up to a comfortable warmness. Put a piece of both into your mouth and enjoy the marriage of both temperate and sweetness.

Love their fruity flavour Smile Sep 16, 2013

I must say I am really a fan of fruity flavored frozen yogurt.
And for the one from yoguru, the strawberry flavoured yougurt taste really refreshing and not at all artificial!

I usually like to add in a crunchy toppings like fruity pebbles and oreo crush. It adds a texture to the smooth frozen yogurt and specific mention to fruity pebbles, it makes the whole cup of yogurt even more flavourful. smile

Healthy food choice Smile Sep 16, 2013

The photo is actually the order - Salmon.
The names for each dishes at WHEAT are usually named after the main ingredient, or an animal, like penguin and whale.

As for SALMON, I like how the portion of salmon is worth the S$9 for this meal. This set meal comes with choice of drink - Ice lemon tea or Water Chestnut.
The wheat is absolutely healthy, although it's a little salty.

WHEAT sells amasoy beancurd too!
