YACKS! Cry Mar 08, 2013
Categories : Indian | Malay | Hawker Centre

Food
Food is oily and unhygienic!

Athough the portion is big, i'm utterly suprised by the "extra" ingredients they have on the food. Look at the black color creature that had passed out or having fought a battle among the tangling bee hoon. Yacky!

This is a close up of the food.

Service
Slow service and tends to forget order.

Ambience
Noisy Hawker centre ambience

Price
Not worth the price

Recommendation / Tips
Dont even patronise this stall.

Disappointment Cry Feb 26, 2013
Categories : Hawker Centre | Porridge/Congee

Food
The food is going from bad to worse. I thought the standard will change after my last visit. Now, it worsen. Porridge is watery and not that gluey anymore. The fried fritters are disgusting - its seems like they used re-fried food, it is soggy, once you bite on it, everything sticks together. A great disappointment it seems! Usually when I go into the hawker center, by default, I will always order the porridge. It wont be the same the next round!

This will be given when they served you the porridge. Soya sauce and pepper.

Service
Expect a 20min wait for your bowl of porridge. Seriously, with this kind of standard, it isnt worth the wait anymore. I used to think that it's the best porridge, ever since the chief cook has sold it's recipe to the new stall owner, everything changes. In fact, I can find some where similar selling the same porridge.

Ambience
It is always very quiet on a Monday as most of the stalls are closed.

Price
$2.50 used to worth every mouthful I had. Now, it's the reverse.

Recommendation / Tips
I wont patronize this anymore.

Incompetence! Cry Feb 21, 2013

Categories : Malaysian

Food
I dont usually like to have Hor Fun, however I have ordered the KL Sau Hor Fun (滑蛋河粉), thinking that it is good and bad choice, I was way disappointed by the food. huffy
Food is below par!

This hor fun comes with 2 prawns that were not fresh, once you bite on it, it just feels like having the first bite on chewing gum where it tastes powdery. EEk! It comes with 3 pieces of char siew which tastes alright, few pieces of liver and sotongs blend in the gluey graving coated every bite of the food on the plate.

I had a plate of KL Sau hor fun and a can of pokka green tea that costs me $7. It saddens me to see that such meal costs me this much.

Service
Why was a queue created in the first place when the cashier keeps on taking orders from someone behind me? Am I transparent? I'm quite pissed off with poor customer service. The cashier just dont seems to understand the queuing system! Atrocious!

They will give you a device during your order at the counter, when your food is ready, the device will light up and you have to take the food from the kitchen counter. During that period of time, it is very obvious that the place is over staff - some are seen idling.

Ambience
Full of empty seats, tools are not comfortable to make it worse, the food sucks.

Price
Overpriced and small portion, with this pricing, I rather eat in the nearby kopitiam!

Recommendation / Tips
I will not step into this cafe again, banned!

Wrong Choice! Cry Feb 06, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Food
Having been to Jurong West Market & Food Centre for quite sometime, I noticed Mei Wei Fried Kway Teow. . "Let's try something new and forget about how sinful it is from the Fried Kway Teow", I told myself. I ordered the smallest portion at $3.00. Phew! I'm lucky I have made the right choice.

Chinese sausage is included which depicts the traditional way of chinese Fried Kway Teow.

Filled with bean sprouts and little cockles as well, this plate of Fried Kway Teow is just another ordinary dish, less that sweet taste from the black sauce. Overall, food is below par, I will say even the standard economical bee hoon / kway tiao is much more better than this. I will rate this plate of fried kway teow 2 out of 5 marks.

Service
There is only 2 uncles manning the stall. 1 frying the kway teow and the other taking orders from the customer. Service is kind of bad. Although I'm just two tables away, the uncle just called out "Fried Kway Teow" and expect me to collect it even though there is no queue.

Ambience
This Jurong West Food Centre is the 'hottest' market in Jurong West, I will not be amazed by how crowded it is during peak hours. And just yesterday, it rained heavily, alot of the tables were wet with rain spilling into my food. The management should do something about it.

Price
The usual price of fried kway teow as per market rate.

Recommendation / Tips
Not sure about its carrot cake and white kway teow, due to incompetence service rendered. I will not buy from this stall again.

Yacks! Cry Feb 05, 2013

Categories : Coffeeshop | Bak Kut Teh

Food
It was rainy day for the whole of sunday afternoon and we decided to grab something hot and soupy for our dinner. The thought of going back to Hong Ji BKT (Bak Kut Teh) at catcus road always lingers in my head. My friend mentioned that there is another Hong Ji BKT in marsiling so without further ado we drove to the Teo Chap Bee Eating House located in Marsiling.

Ordered one big claypot of BKT which costs $10 and each bowl of rice costs $0.50. Initially we had forgetting to order the fried fritters but after sipping a few mouthful of the soup, we find that its very different. Have they changed their recipe, we paused. The taste is a far cry from what we had in Hong Ji BKT located in Catcus Rd. That's horrible. It's so bland. And I tried to search for slices of button mushrooms in it but there were none. What happened? It totally whack the good image of Black sauce bak kut teh in my mind. What a turn off! This will be the first and last time I'm there for Hong Ji BKT.

Ah? Tau Pok floating on top of BKT. I dont remember having that.
However the BKT consists of the usual pork liver, stomach, ribs etc. Nothing special in particular.

BKT paried with striking Green leafy vegetables. Looks good but we didnt ask for another refill of soup!

Service
We have to queue a while to order the BKT at the stall. Order was served about 10 minutes later. They do offer refillal of soup but it was not mentioned by the staff. Staff was all dressed in yellow
red polo tee representing Hong Ji.

Ambience
Coffee shop is mostly packed with Hong Ji Bak Kut Teh Fans, most of the tables are having claypot bak kut teh on their table. Due to that we were not that early, I have no choice but to sit at the area under the wide umbrella which is the smoking area. It's outdoor somemore and to make the situation worse, there were rain droplets sipping through the big shelter (umbrella) which makes my whole dinning experience awful!

Price
The price doesnt match the lousy food Im having. Total disappointment!

Recommendations / Tips
The after taste(after dinner) is really awful . I have to drink lots and lots of water after that. Feeling very uncomfortable. Think there is a "overkill" of MSG added.
