They said good things are worth waiting for... However that isn't so true.
I had my chicken with spaghetti waited more than half an hour and my friend had already done up with his meal!
Reminded Swensen's staff numerous times on my dish and only to realize that it tastes not that great. No doubt this is new on their menu during that time of visit and i dont expect a long waiting time. Eventhough its so long, they should have inform customer when taking down the order.

I dont like the crowded experience i had in Malaysia Boleh. Everyone was waiting for seat and giving you pressure when you are dinning. Worst of all, after finding seats, you have to beat the long waiting queues to buy your food, by the time we get our food, I think I fainted. The concept of the stalls is good. Its like a food court with different stalls selling their own malaysian food. I do frequent visits to malaysia as well and i find that the food here is a far cry as compared to malaysia.

This is the Che Chai Mee with the Goh Hiong... The mee soup is very thick and salty.This plate of hokkien mee looks like fried udon and its extremely oily and overpriced.
Taste is so so.And if you havent tried fried durian, this is the time u can try it in singapore. But it tastes not as good as the store in JB.

Had this plate of Char Kway Teow as my lunch. $3 portion is rather small.
The selling point of this plate of kway teow will be its vegetables. Apart from the one in Golden Mile food centre, i find this plate of kway tiao just tastes ok. It is served in Polyurethane plates and flies off easily when left empty especially when there are so many fans around. So please take note of this. No doubt this plate is suppose to be healthy, the char kway teow had burnt taste and few of my mee in the plate are "chao tah".

Soon Kee Wanton Mee Stall is also one of the popular stalls in Pek Kio Market & Food Center where one notices the queue line up in front of the stall. So what's the fuss? Let's take a look at it.Though the bigger portion was just a $0.50 difference, I find that the portion was rather generous not only for the noodles but also the slices of char siew. The noodles were slightly thicker than the usual Mee Kia I had and was springy. The sauce they use was slightly different from the usual ones we have and indeed, it has a familiar old school taste. Besides that, the Char Siew was home made too.While the Wanton comes in 3 in the soup bowl.The other item on their menu will be their shrimp dumpling noodle instead.Shrimp Dumplings are plump and juicy for instance, however nothing extraordinary about the fillings and taste.Have no idea what to eat in Pek Kio Market & Food Center? Perhaps following the length of the queue from the stall may be a good guide to make a choice of your meal.

The dish was a noteworthy item just as recommended on their menu. Cuttlefish given was generous and was soft and chewable while the Sambal was not too spicy together with the cut pieces of Fried Kang Kong.Fried Kang Kong Sambal with Cuttlefish 鱿鱼蕹菜 - $12
Large chunks of fish meat with slices of ginger and vegetables together with thick bee hoon are the usual sights that we expect from Cze Char's stall Fish Meat Noodle Soup. I was rather disappointed with the soup as it was rather bland without much taste but on a good note, usage of MSG is minimal.Sum Kee Fish Meat Noodle Soup 珍记鱼肉粗米粉 - $7
The pork ribs are indeed very flavourful with sweetness and sour taste. It was intense and the amount of meat given was generous. It's recommended just as what they state on their menu.Sum Kee Pork Ribs 珍记排骨王 - $10

The exterior texture of the roll was indeed very thin and crispy, unlike what I had in most Cze Char Stall. As for its fillings, its rather ordinary, pairing up with the sweet sauce provided.Crispy Prawn Roll 珍记虾枣 - $10
Though the cereal prawn was packed with fragrance and hints of milk powder, we still find that the taste of prawns was kind of lacking and bland. Cereal Prawn 香脆麦片虾 - $22

With some hits and misses, if I'm going for popular dishes like San Lao Hor Fun, Fish Meat Noodle Soup and Crispy Prawn Roll, I will most likely go to the usual Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hun. However, their menu was rather standard and not with a variety like Hong Kong Street. In addition, with so many dishes ordered, we felt that the price was reasonable & pocket friendly for a popular Cze Char place like this. It is definitely a good place for a family meal during the weekends and do note that reservations can be made in advance for big groups only.
