the chicken wing is definitely one of the best.

There is always a long queue in front of this stall and the queue can get even longer during lunch hour. And, everyone is queuing up for their famous Nasi Lemak. The queue is almost always there even during the non-peak hours.

I would think the star here is their chicken wing, it is not the same if you compared it to those served in chinese style Nasi Lemak. It was a little saltier but definitely tastier with the nicely crisp texture. I would think this is one of the best chicken wings so far even better than the famous Nasi Lemak stall over at Adam Road.

The rice served here is always moist with a distinct coconut smell. And, let's not forget the sambal chilli, it is one of the best too in Singapore with the right level of spiciness that gave it an oomph factor.

Highly recommended.

i was fascinated by this place upon my first visit. It has almost everything under the same roof.

I was excited to try the ramen from the famous noodle stand originated from Asahikawa, Hokkaido. I ordered the Tontoro Ramen. The Tontoro was nicely seasoned, tender and soft. I fallen deeply in love with the soup base for ramen, though a little salty but really good. The handmade ramen was good in texture. It was an enjoyable bowl of ramen no doubt and the only pity gotta be the portion was too little.

Ordered a serving of Unagi Sushi to go along with my ramen. It was surprisingly good and i did enjoy eating it.

Decided to order a Caramel Banana tart from the Fruit Paradise and the Macha Parfait from Kyoto Saba. Both were equally good but a little pricey.

taiwanese style pork chop rice Smile May 23, 2011

A good friend has strongly recommended this shop and i have been wanting to try.

This shop moved from places to places and finally settled at this current location. I was in town for a movie preview and the show ended early and that gotten me here for the first time. As i already had my dinner, i decided to change the rice to fries when i ordered my taiwanese style pork chop set.

The pork chop was well marinated and nicely fried with a nicely soft texture, it reminded me of the famous 金园排骨in Taiwan. Both tasted rather similar. This pork chop was good but i could not say the same about their coleslaw and i did not like the baked beans too. Perhaps it was near closing so both items did not taste too fresh. Soup was served lukewarm thus disappointing.

I would be back to try their pork chop rice set or their chicken chop rice set next time.

Hot plate braised noodle! Smile May 20, 2011

Categories : Chinese | Food Court | Kids-Friendly

This is something quite unusual and not commonly found in most food centres and coffee shops.

It is braised noodle with chicken served on a hot plate and it came with an egg too. It came sizzling hot, so hot that the raw egg cooked after i was done taking picture. And look at the generous serving of braised chicken pieces and mushroom, it definitely worth every cent spent. The chicken pieces were tender, soft and most importantly, tasted delicious.

And, the noodle tasted good too with the braised sauce, right texture and the right balance of seasoning. I ordered this out of my curiosity and did not expect it to turn out to be a pleasant surprise!

Do try it if you happen to be in the vicinity too.

Recommended.

A good bowl of porridge Smile May 19, 2011

Categories : Hawker Centre | Porridge/Congee

This is one of my favourite hangouts for a good bowl of porridge in the morning.

The star here is no doubt their raw fish. And, the thing that i really liked about the porridge here is they always came with the right amount of seasoning and this including the sesame oil on the yu sheng. They seasoned the porridge and yu sheng rather than leave it to the customers to do it. This is good for me as i tend to over season particularly with white pepper at times.

I love the nice sludge though the grains of rice here somewhat discernable but still, rather good. My favourite has always been the meatball porridge with century egg, and i always have an egg added.

The only complaint here is i would rather have the raw fish sliced in a bigger pieces other than that everything is good here.

The stall is pretty busy in the morning with many customers sitting at the few tables near the stall. The service is still pretty prompt though.

If you want a good bowl of porridge then you should give this stall a try.
