Other than fruit juices, this stall is selling pineapple drink too. Apparently, their pineapple drink was quite a disappointment. The taste of pineapple was really diluted and the pieces of pineapple gotten very little pineapple taste as well with a minimum level of sweetness. And for $1.00, i would rather get a glass of soya bean or grass jelly drink for a cheaper price.

I am pretty certain that this would be an one time off experience. Not recommended.

This could be the worst encounter that i had with ice kachang thus far.

It did not look appealing when it was presented to me. The color of the syrups poured over the pile of shaved ice appeared to be very light hence it did not have the effect to make it looks appetizing at all.

When tasting it, very minimum level of sweetness detected, it tasted like a pile of plain shaved ice. It had no taste of condensed milk as well. The ingredients like red bean, atap seeds and grass jelly were found underneath that pile of ice. Apparently, my favorite red bean did not cook long enough to give it the usual soft and meshy texture.

It is not a good feeling to write such a review. sad

Disappointing experience. Cry Nov 18, 2011

This stall is selling snacks like Soon Kueh, Yam Cake, Glutinous Rice, Chee Chong Fun etc for breakfast and lunch but selling different type of double boiled soups and rice for dinner.

Look can be quite deceiving. I expected the Soon Kueh to be nice when looking at it. My first bite proven to be a disappointment though. The skin was very thick and i suppose that very much explained why it looked much bigger than the average size. The filling that mainly made up of turnips was pretty bland, it does not even have the sweetness of the turnips. The dark sauce did not taste like the usual one that i had before. I did not manage to finish but ended up looking for an alternative to fill my hungry stomach.

Another disappointing choice for lunch.

The fish soup came with 4 pieces of average tasting fried fish together with veggies, slices of tomato and chinese dried seaweed. I tasted almost no taste of XO though they indicated it on their signboard. It was just a milky based soup that failed to impress. I ordered a bowl of white rice to go with the fish soup. Another bad choice. The texture of the white rice was unbearably hard. And to make it edible so as not to waste it, i got to pour in a large amount of soup to soften the rice and let it soaked for a while before eating it.

I am definite that i will not return to this stall.

A basket of Prawn dumplings. Cry Nov 10, 2011

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Food Court | Dim Sum

I had a sudden craving for dim sum hence decided to order just a basket of prawn dumplings. They heat it up by re-steaming it for about 5 minutes or so before served. A basket of 3 prawn dumplings is for a reasonable price of $1.80.

The prawn dumplings were slightly smaller in size with chopped pieces of prawn found in it. The skin was pretty dry thus tasted hard, it tasted just like those that left to cool for a while.

I would rather pay a little extra to have better quality dim sum than these. I might just give it a try someday since they have quite a few stalls island wide but i will definitely stay away from this particular stall for a bit.

All in all, it was a disappointing experience.
