Chicken rice - Not recommended.  Cry Oct 02, 2011

Went discovering places around the about to open circle line on their open house day. This is the only food centre that next to one of the stations. And, that somehow explained why everyone came here for lunch. It was rather crowded here, almost every stall gotten a queue of a few people and some stalls with a long queue of 10 people or more.

This was one of the stalls with only a few people and i decided to try it. I was served after waited for 15 minutes in the queue. The stall was solely manned by a middle aged uncle and that explained the longer than usual waiting time.

I asked for a plate of roasted chicken rice. I was given quite a generous portion of the breast meat and rice. After taken the first mouthful of the rice, i was disappointed. It did not have even a little taste of chicken stock, it was as good as plain rice. Next, i was equally disappointed after tasting the breast meat, it was totally disappointing. It tasted bland and a little tough. The chilli was diluted with no chilli taste nor spiciness as well. Though i hate to give bad review but this gotta be one of the worst chicken rice that i ever tasted.

Not recommended.

i fell in love with the interior design of this outlet. The whole restaurant is made up of basic colors like black, white and grey. This particular outlet looks rather classy and you might not even know you are having burger in Burger King if there is no display of their logo in this premise.

Having your burger in such a place came with a price. I believe the pricing for all their burgers, sides and drinks are slightly expensive as compared to their other outlets. And, wanna make a guess on how much did i pay for the double cheese burger? i know it is selling at $2.00 at their main competitor's outlets but right here i paid $5.60 for a double cheeseburger itself. It was shockingly expensive for something tasted below average.

The foods always tend to taste better when eating in a nice surrounding. Apparently it was not so in this instance, the patties of both burgers tasted dry. We came at their off-peak hour so their fries served were soggy as well but off-peak hour is not a good enough basis to constitute a good reason to compromise on the quality of their foods. Sadly, the nicest amongst everything was that big cup of coke with ices.

I used to enjoy eating the burgers from Burger King but there is a significant drop in their standard across their outlets. I thought of giving it another shot after staying away for months but it turned out to be quite a disappointment.
Love the greyish background more than the foods.

The chiller.  Cry Sep 02, 2011

My first cup of blended coffee from Gloria Jeans did not make me a fan or wanting to come back for more.

I wanted a blended drink with 40% or less coffee as i would be sharing with my partner who is not a coffee drinker. I was recommended to try choc Macademia chiller. I thought i would be asked whether to have it with cream or not but i was not prompted this question.

The drink tasted rather bitter though not much of coffee taste but with almost no sweetness detected. And no, there was not any macademia taste as well.

It was an absolute disappointment and I totally did not like it.

A tad disappointment. Cry Sep 01, 2011

First time to Coffee Kaki. It is another coffee outlet that serves local delights like mee siam and laksa, toasts and beverages like coffee and tea.

The kaya and butter toasts were a little too dry and the coffee was not as hot as expected. And, the coffee did not have a good combination of the right amount of coffee powder, condensed milk and sugar thus it did not match up to my expectation. And for the same amount of $1.40, i can definitely get a better cup of coffee elsewhere.

Not really recommended.

Black Pepper McGrill! Cry Aug 31, 2011

There was a recent promotion of black pepper mcGrill. It will be given free with any chicken mcgrill sandwich during the promotional period.

I have tried the chicken mcgrill as well as chilli mcgrill and now the black pepper mcgrill. This is the one that i least like amongst all the mcgrill burgers. The black pepper taste was a little overwhelmingly peppery but the slices of onion is definitely a good addition. I might give it a second try much later but for now i have decided to stay away.
