Disappointing savoury pancakes  Cry Apr 12, 2013

I was so excited to see the variety of types of savoury pancakes available. 100 different kinds (or at least that was stated in the menu). We had the Pannekoek nachos for starters which are a type of Dutch pancake but cut to nacho size. And while in appearance it could pass the nacho-like test, they got soggy really quickly and unappetizing to eat. What’s more, there was hardly any salsa and only few spare bits of turkey (or could be chicken) bacon tossed in.

NOT IMPRESSED. A total rip off.

My hubby had a burger, seemingly impressive-looking in the menu, but crumbly texture which did not add much in terms of flavor to the meal.

For dessert, we tried the plain pancakes with maple syrup and butter. The pancakes were nice, had good texture and were fluffy, so no complaints there. However, they had added sugar in the scoop of butter provided, so combined with the maple syrup, it did come off as a tad too sweet. It would have been better if only pure butter was used.

I’m afraid we won’t be coming back to this place…not when there are so many other Pancake restaurants to visit!

average fare, small portions OK Apr 29, 2013

I would say that the food here is average. The pizzas here are small and so if you’re thinking of sharing, do order at least two. I found it strange that they would top the parma ham pizza with lettuce instead of rocket leaves and it definitely isn’t as tasty a combination. Their salad portions are small as well, but I recommend the Smoked Duck salad with Orange Sauce to try. The slices of duck are tender and flavourful.

Good but oily pizza OK Apr 29, 2013

If you’re looking for a thick-crust pizza with chock-ful of ingredients, Pizza Hut’s pizzas are hard to beat. Here, you can sink your teeth into the crust but be mindful of the amount of oil that oozes out of it! It can get pretty oily! This is definitely not a gourmet pizza restaurant but rather a fast food one. Their beef Lasagna is pretty tasty and topped with a thick layer of cheese.

Decent Italian food at low prices OK Apr 19, 2013

For affordable Italian food, this is the place to go! I like their Hawaiian pizza, at $6.40, it’s a personal pan size for one. Plus, their escargots are the real deal and at a steal of $5.90! Where else can you get a decent Seafood Spaghetti for only $7.90? Or a plate of chicken wings (8) for the same price? The best part is…there’s no GST or service charges!! So, decent food at low prices…what are you waiting for? smile

Nice pizza and bread!  OK Apr 19, 2013

This place serves pork ham on its pizza! Hooray! I’ve nothing against chicken ham, but honestly, pork ham tastes better because of the higher fat content! Tried their Hula Hawaiian, and it was good with a nice and rather thick crust. That said, their Caesar salad with chicken was disappointing, one would think that it would come with chicken strips or shreds, instead, chicken ham was used, so it was not as tasty as it had less bite. However, the big piece of garlic bread which came along with it was delicious! Also, it would have been better had real instead of soy bacon bits were used. But their Seafood aglio olio was surprising tasty.
