If you’re looking for a thick-crust pizza with chock-ful of ingredients, Pizza Hut’s pizzas are hard to beat. Here, you can sink your teeth into the crust but be mindful of the amount of oil that oozes out of it! It can get pretty oily! This is definitely not a gourmet pizza restaurant but rather a fast food one. Their beef Lasagna is pretty tasty and topped with a thick layer of cheese.

While there have been a multitude of Vietnamese restaurants popping up in Singapore these past few years, not many are truly able to do a good Pho dish, which is slices of beef with rice noodles in a beef broth. But here, the Pho is as close as it gets to the ones in Vietnam. The broth is not overly spiced with herbs but mild with a strong beef flavour and the beef slices are tender. Till I can visit Vietnam again, I’m coming back here!

This shop front always looks so pretty with its fruit tarts on display that I could not resist trying them! The Strawberry fruit tart is sweet and will please the little ones as well while the mixed berries one is a little more tart in flavour and add a more depth to the dessert. If you’re unsure of which tart to choose, just ask for a sample which they are happy to give.

I love Yakitori and Tori Q’s where I go to have them. There’s chicken, pork with asparagus, unagi, chicken balls…ad all marinated and grilled to perfection! Their Bento sets are pretty worth it and consists of a few sticks (at least 4) of Yakitori, rice which is drizzled with a delicious soy sauce and some pickles. If only the prices of the individual sticks of yakitori could be as they were when they first came to Singapore; I believe that there has been at least a 20 cent increase per stick since!

While this stall’s Japanese name translates to ‘Octopus balls’ in English, they come in other flavours as well! The traditional Octopus balls are filled with a nice thick piece of Octopus so it’s chewy but not tough while the prawn ones are really good as well. Both usually come sprinkled with a generous amount of bento flakes. But the most popular type has got to be the bacon and cheese! The melty cheese complements the bacon perfectly and makes every bite or mouthful a delight.
