Swensen's  OK Jul 05, 2013

I am really disappointed with Swensen's lately. Their standard of food had been dropping. sad

I ordered a Seafood Pasta this afternoon. The style of cooking was great and tasty. However, the ingredients weren't fresh ):

My aunty ordered Fish & Chips. It was okay but the portion was smaller than expected. The fries was crunchy! (:

Swensen's still have the best ice cream! (: Sticky Chewy Chocolate !

Recommended Dish(es):  sticky chewy icecream

Seng Kee Black Chicken Herbal Soup at Kembangan. They also have a branch at Blk 511 Bedok North Road. Both outlets are always buzzing with people and recognised. The one at Kembangan is a lot more bigger than the one in Bedok.

Kidney Mee Sua is a must order when you are there. I really like the soup base, I almost drank all up and not left a single drop. The kidney is fresh and chewy! A great combination with mee sua. For those of you whom doesn't like kidney, you can try the pork slices one! smile

Apart from their signature mee sua, we ordered plenty side dishes too!

Steamed Fish - $25 (Recommended)
Offering many different variety of seafood for us to choose, this fish is a must to order. It is fresh and tasty. The prices varies with the fish sizes.

Todai International Buffet Cry Jul 05, 2013

Categories : Fusion | Multi-Cuisine | Seafood | Buffet | Kids-Friendly

Before I start this post proper, I can only say I am disappointed with the food. I went in on a Tuesday which is a special night thinking they will have more variety but no! They only have 3 more particular cooked dishes which is not what i wanted. Do check carefully before you head down for a meal smile We have to pay more on the special nights. In conjunction with the UOB cards promotion, we paid around $70++ per pax.

We went in with high expectations for the seafood spread. With greater expectation comes greater disappointment. The seafood spread consists of the enormous crab legs, mussels and scallop. They do not have fresh prawns neither do they have oysters. Great disappointment. The mussels and scallops were refilled once they were gone but every time refilled there will only be 10 shells on the ice panel. However, the crab legs were really good! They were big, juicy and sweet. Awesome! The only reason I will head back to Todai will be their crab legs. Nothing else.

Their cooked food wasn't amazing. In fact, for many dishes were served cold and unappealing.

As for the desserts wise, it was okay. They have a wide selection for the desserts.

I will not go again given the price and servings they are offering. There are better buffets out there with better pricing and food.

Recommended Dish(es):  Crabs legs

Pasta Manna  Smile Apr 29, 2013

Pasta Manna @ Old Airport Road

This is one of my favourite affordable pasta from old airport road. The standard could be easily compared to a restaurant standard. Really!

There is always long queues for Pasta Manna, you can never miss the stall.

My favourite pastas are the creamy mushroom and seafood aglio olio! I like it when they never scrimp on their ingredients like never!

It was delicious, i love especially the cream sauce. It does not make the pasta dry and makes me want to have more and more.

The best part is that everything is just for $5! If you want it to come with a set, just add on $2.50 and you get soup and garlic bread! Love it!

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Coffeeshop | Seafood | Zi Char

Today I had my dinner at the coffee shop near my place! Sad to say that the only nice food will be their zi char stall!

This is what I had for dinner:

1. 铁板豆腐虾 (Hot plate tofu with prawns) - $12

This dish was unexpected. I never thought that their tofu comes in small little circular shapes instead of what I always had a big rectangular tofu in the middle! Nevertheless, the tofu is very soft and tender! The dish is a little too salty for my liking though.

2. 冬菇奶白 (mushroom with vegetable) $9
The main dish here will be the vegetable but the chef gave us a lot of mushroom which is good. My mum said that the mushroom taste a little like abalone which i dont know why. As for me, I think it is really yummy. The vegetable was decent.

3. 虾酱酥鸡 (chicken wings) $8
This is the best! It is so crispy outside and tender on the inside. I love the marinating the best smile

If you stay around this area, why not give it a try! smile
