Rose flavoured soya milk Smile Mar 30, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Desserts and Cakes

There's a new selection of Soya Milk from Jollybean. They have 3 new flavours (1) Lavender (2) Rose (3) Jasmine.

I am a rose lover. I love rose scented stuff. I bought this rose flavoured soyabean milk for $2.20. The same size as the normal standard soya milk but $1 more expensive. Initially I was quite concerned if they used rose syrup, coz if they do, I won't buy. But they said rose petals grounded powder, that's why I gave it a try.

I can smell a mild rose scent when I opened the lid. It tasted nice too. I asked the lady she said that they use rose powder to add into the drink. See the picture below - you can mildly see the residue at the bottom of the cup.

Spending per head: Approximately $2.20

Nice yogurt Smile Mar 30, 2011

Categories : Salads/ Acai Bowl

My colleague recommended me to get yogurt from SaladStop and indeed it's really good. The serving is reasonable and I like how they pack the granolas in a separate tupperware. They also provide a nice plastic spoon to go along.

I have since bought 5 yogurts from this place and will continue patronising them. smile

Maybe I can check out their soups in future.

Long waiting queue OK Mar 30, 2011
Categories : Hawker Centre | Porridge/Congee

I started queuing at 1 pm but I only get to order my food at 1.35 pm. I wouldn't say the queue is terribly long. I think the boss and assistant's service are quite slow and there are only 2 fish pots cooking at one time.

The lady assistant often puts up a long face as if implying that she is very tired or she is not feeling well whenever she observes the long line of customers queuing. sad

The fish is relatively big (as compared to other slice fish stalls) and fresh and the soup is sweet. I ordered the $4.50 big bowl since I queued for such a long time.

They are open from Mon - Fri (7.30 am - 2 pm) only.

Pork Knuckle Smile Oct 14, 2010
Categories : Restaurant | Steaks and Grills | Kids-Friendly

Had satisfied my cravings for pork knuckles at Werner's. I am quite surprise to see that the place is under a private apartment.

I heard that this place is rather old but they in the past few months, they went through renovations. I had their pork knuckle. It is quite big and I had to share with my boyfriend.

The skin is very fragrant and crispy. Although it is deep fried but it is not oily at all. The meat is tender and just right. Totally goes well with mustard sauce. The other side dishes are herb mash potato and onion.

The service is prompt and the staff are friendly. This is highly recommended place for German dining and they probably serve one of the best pork knuckles in town.

My parents always like Pu Tien Smile Sep 13, 2010

Categories : Fujian/Heng Hwa | Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

I had Pu Tien for a long time even before they became commercialized and did their renovations because my grandma is a Hock chiew and this place serves authentic Hock chiew food. It has since become very modern (Valet parking), contemporary design and has even opened several branches. They also have a website- http://www.putien.com/

I ordered the cuisine for 4 pax at $88 (excluding taxes). Total bill came up to be $103+

Bamboo Herbal Prawn
Cucumber with Chestnut
Steamed Seabass
Sweet & Sour Pork
Pu Tien Lor Mee
Rice

The complimentary dessert we had was chilled snow fungus.

Overall, it's a thumbsup for us. It always has been.
