Fish Cake Smile May 07, 2011

The stall's noodles aren't of much to shout about, just an average hawker standard. However, the fish cake here is extremely springy compared to others. The texture is excellent and it isn't that oily despite it's golden brown skin. The only downside is that it maybe a tad too salty for some.
Go try the fish cake for $1.20!

This is a nice place for a gathering with some rather good service, the dishes here do not disappoint as well, especially the stir fried beijing duck. The notable ones :

Beijing duck : Not too bad, meat was tender, nothing much to add on but definitely better than hawkers' or cafe standards.

Stir fried beijing duck : Smells so good, it knocks your socks off. The more I sniff in, the more uncontrollable it was for me to eat. The portion served was just right despite the very much empty plate.

Ee Fu Style Mee : Can't beat Mitzi Cantonese Restaurant but the crab was delightable

Garoupa : A little too saltish but very nice fresh and tender meat

overall a satisfying meal smile

The area here is pretty much big enough for gatherings but lacks the furnishings. A popular hangout location for youngsters after LAN, this place is pretty quiet during off peak hours on school days. The crowd-less atmosphere seems to somehow, relate to it's food. My big mc was not warm at all though the vegetables were fresh. The temperature of the food and the environment just seem to blend in too well shocked

This stall has been at the same location for ages ever since I was young but I've only tried them once before. I tried the huat kueh years back but somehow can't recall how well it went. Tried the fried dumpling the other day and it was merely nice. It's not bad, but it's not good either. The filling were quite a handful but lacked in taste but I have to say, the appearance looks good!

If you are looking for fresh oysters, this is the place for you! This dish is considered the slightly more expensive one as compared to other common food, but this is well worth your money. The chilli that goes along with the well fried arrayed mix of oysters, egg and flour is sourish but spicy as well! One of the better tasting chilli sauces I have ever tasted.
