Braised Meat Rice Cry Jul 16, 2012

I was here for the first time. I have been misisng the taiwanese foods quite badly so decided to try some of their singatures. One of those that we ordered is Luo Ruo Fan. It consists of braised minced meat, braiseed egg and some vegetable. This dish is a disppointment. It did not taste like the real thing that i had in taiwan. They should have used pork belly rather than minced meat in making this dish. I would not try again.

Peanuts Ah Balling Smile Jul 14, 2012

This is one of their few stalls in Ghim Moh Food Centre. I enjoyed the not too sweet finely grounded peanuts filling in the 4 dumplings served in the peanuts soup. The peanuts soup did not taste too sweet as well. The dumpling has got a nicely thin chewy skin. The peanuts soup has got bits of nicely braised soft peanuts too. It tasted really good and i enjoyed eating it so much.

Curry Vegetable Smile Jul 14, 2012

My favourite of all curry dishes got to be the Curry Vegetable. I tried a few and not all met my expectation. This is the stall that i always go for whenever i am hit by the craving. I followed their move from the food court at Amara Hotel to this current location. The curry vegetable consists of cabbage and long bean. They cooked it well to give it a nice softness. They did not overcook it to make it too mushy as well. It is so good that i can eat it on its own without the rice.

Chwee Kueh OK Jul 14, 2012

My son bought the chwee keuh from this famous stall in Ghim Moh. I was told this stall has been around for a long time. I tried but it did not make me a fan. I still prefer my chwee kueh from Bedok's. Their texture is much soft as compared to the firmer version of Ghim Moh's. The version of their preserved radish is towards the salty version, less sweet though and fragrant. The minimum order is 4 for $1.20.

Mee Kia Smile Jul 11, 2012

This is one of the longest surviving stalls in this food centre. Their queue is always the longest too. And most of the people in the queue are their regular customers. A basic bowl of noodle is at $4 and it does not come with 'most amount of ingredients' as indicated by the earlier reviewer. If you want the extra amount of ingredients then you would have to pay an extra $1 for it. And, it did not have chopped spring onion and green vegetable added as mentioned by the same reviewer too.
I usually paid the extra $1 for ingredients to be added to my noodle. Their mee pok and mee kia are usually sold out before 12 pm. This stall closed at 1 pm, off on every Thursday and Sunday. A baisc bowl of noodle came with lean meat, liver, minced meat and braised mushroom. The nicest mushroom minced pork mee available right here.
