Woodshed may be a little inaccessible with public transport but it is a very cosy cafe which wants to bring a homely feeling to all their patrons. The cafe is separated into two areas with the counter top in the middle.

The front area is filled with bright vibrant colored sofa seats with small wooden stools or crates as table top. A relaxing area for some coffee or tea over a few pieces of desserts.

They serve mainly coffee, tea and desserts, their menu for mains is quite limited at the time i went. & so we ordered the following to try.

Tummy tea ($6.90): What an interesting name right. It’s a brew of peppermint leaves, liquorice roots, fennel seeds and calendula flower. It has a sharp sweet minty aftertaste that lingers around after drinking.

Truffle Fries ($9.90): With no mistake, really one of the better truffle fries as what other reviews mentioned. Shoes strings fries tossed in truffle oil. Crispy fries with each and every single fries infused with the flavor of truffle. Just cant stop munching on it one after another. Super addictive and tasty.

Full House ($15.90): A little different from the usual. Slice of toast with pork sausage, mushrooms, potato chunks, bacon and scrambled eggs with some greens. The scrambled eggs are quite good, runny and creamy. Cheesy pork sausage is fat and juicy too. But the potatoes are a little cold to begin with and its kind of chewy and rubbery.

Unusual Fish & Chips ($17.90): Unusually big deep fried dory with homemade batter served with fries and salad. Dory fish is fresh not the flaky kind, and batter is not overly thick and flour-y kind. The best thing is, it’s really a huge portion!
To sum it up, it's a nice and homely place to chill out with friends over a cup of tea and desserts on a lazy afternoon. It's good for a first timer but pricing may be considered a little expensive for a second return as the price excludes 10% service charge when we still have to self serve ourselves to the water and condiments. In consideration of so many new cafes sprouting up by the days, i may rather look for some other cafes which is more worthwhile.

Fresh and awesome boston lobster! Smile Nov 19, 2014

Finally tried Little Fish Shop after so many years it has been in Nex! Tried most of the restaurants in Nex except for this! It’s one of the more ‘Atas’ restaurant which specializes in fish and seafood in nex. Their flagship store was Greenwood Fish Bistro & Market at Greenwood Avenue where they sell fresh fish and seasonal seafood for you to prepare your own food at home in additional to their bistro.

Their very worth it Lunch Set Menu! Got to try it one of the days sooon!

Set of condiments to accompany your food!

Lobster Bisque: Very thick and rich in taste with chunks of lobster meat. The soup is totally filled with the essence of lobsters. Very flavorful and appetite whetting dish!

Hot Seafood Platter with Additional Half Boston Lobster: There’s a choice of hot and cold seafood platter. We decided to go for the hot one. The hot platter consists of various shellfish like clams and green muscles cooked in broth, grilled prawns and calamari, deep fried soft shell crab and fish fillet, fries and some greens. And we add on half grilled Boston lobster. The lobster is awesome! Fresh, sweet, meaty and crunchy. The seasoning and flavor from the grill, totally seeps into the lobster meat and it tasted so good! Shellfish in broth is good too, the broth is quite heavy in its taste, a lil salty and could taste a lil white wine. All the seafood used were really fresh and good. Calamari was grilled just nice, a little chewy but not tough on teeth but had that over burnt taste though. The boston lobster is still my favourite out of the whole platter!
All in all, enjoyed the seafood feast in the little fish shop. They have daily promotions too where some of their seafood like oysters are wallet friendly! I am gonna check it out when i can!

Good Mains and Desserts choices! Smile Oct 23, 2014

Once again bought a groupon voucher for some good food at Relish by wild rocket. They have two branches, first branch at cluny court followed by the one at myvillage. We went to the one at myvillage. The one at myvillage has the ‘outdoor’ laid back atmosphere with an open dining concept.

The food and experience there is good. We ordered Spam Fries with Kaffer Lime Mayo ($8.80) – Spam coated with rolled oats and deep fried. Could not really taste the oats flavour, a little salty due to the nature of spam but its not greasy and oily.

Soft Shell Chilli Crab Burger ($18.80): Fried soft shell crab with chilli sauce, lettuce and tomatoes between squid ink bun. One minus point is bun hardens when it gets cold, so better eat it while its hot. Very crunchy mouth feel from the soft shell crab, tomatoes and fresh lettuce! Chilli sauce is more of the sweet chilli not too spicy.

Seafood Arrabiatta Spaghetti ($16.80): Thumbs up for this dish! It’s really good. Dry arrabiatta style. Thick chunky sauce with hint of spicy note to it. Spaghetti is of thinner strands compared to the usual kind, well mixed together with the sauce. Served with prawns, scallops and i could taste strands of fresh crab meat too! A very flavorful dish.

Strawberry Cheesecake ($9): Their signature dessert. A good rendition of the typical strawberry cheesecake. They had the biscuits layer in chunks and generous servings of strawberries in syrup that sits at the bottom. Topped it with semi vanilla cheese ice cream alike. Good distinct burst of flavor, a little sweet, a little salty, a little sour, one after another.
Pretty good food served with friendly staff!

Hidden Gem Smile Oct 18, 2014

Fanny ice cream is a french inspired ice cream palour that sells 100% natural ice cream. It is quite famous in Vietnam but there's only a two-storey branch along the east coast road, opposite 112 katong. On the second level, they have more comfortable sofa seatings and is quite spacious. Event can be held there too. They have a wide range of flavors to choose from and a variety of dessert sets to opt for. There's almost over 30+ flavours to choose from and over 10 dessert sets to fret your head over with. Their flavors are pretty unique and they are rich, smooth and creamy.
Decided to warm up our stomach with something hot!

Mushroom Soup: Though it looks diluted, but the taste is really rich. Am pretty surprised how this was done, thin consistency but filled with bits of mushrooms and there's sufficient flavor to it.

Mango freeze Soda: A very refreshing drink! Fresh mango puree with chunks of mango on top of the soda. Mangoes are sweet. Very different from the typical italian soda! Must try!

Happy cubes: Consist of 8 happy cubes. Mixture of sorbet and ice cream. Sorbets are generally refreshing and have strong fruity taste! While the ice cream is really rich and creamy! Good to order if you want to try a bit of everything! There's flavor like raspberry, avocado, cookie & creams, matcha etc!
Overall a very good dessert experience there. The staff are very friendly and you get to try as many flavor as you like before you come to a decision! Do drop by for a try if you're in the vicinity.

Another hidden ice cream palour! Dont you realized nowadays most of the newly opened ice cream palour are well hidden in the neighbourhood or at the outskirt of town. This gem is located inside Sunshine Plaza. There’s actually quite a no. of food places inside there too. Should find one time to explore those too. A small parlour with a retro radio frame on their glass window. Good for some photo shoots, dont you think so? But the interior, is rather simple with a few tables for sitting.
They have nearly 15 over ice cream flavours! And i would say beside the usual flavour, they have quite a number of special flavours! Also, their ice cream is made in a pretty unique way. Their ice cream are generally smooth and thick not icy. Taste very fresh and natural! 3 scoops for $7.90.
Chocolate flavour: Uses dark chocolate, bitter with tinge of sweetness.
Yuzu Sorbet: Light and refreshing with tiny bits of zest
Red Velvet Cake: Very unique taste of flavour, sourish sweet yet tinge of salty-ness. Cream cheese as ice cream base with chunks of red velvet cakes! Yums!
Really friendly staff too!
