Wait no more, Gyoza-Ya has launched a fourth filling for their gyoza (dumpling)! - Pork, Vegetable, Prawn and now Red King Crab (Tarabagani). As the name, Gyoza-Ya, this restaurant is specialised in both pan-fried and boiled gyoza. Also as member of the Akashi Group of restaurants, Gyoza-Ya is sure to bring out the authentic Japanese taste from Japan to Singapore.

Red King Crab Gyoza is available in both Pan-Fried (Yaki Kani Gyoza) and Boiled (Sui Kani Gyoza) with Miso Dressing, priced at $7.80 for 5 pieces per plate.
There is limited quantity daily depending on availability of their Tarabagani. The gyoza are made freshly everyday.

My personal favourite drink is Kuri Lemonade (Japanese Cucumber with Lemonade). A very refreshing and smoothing taste! Another new item added, Tonkusei Tonkotsu Udon (Special Pork Bone Soup with Thick Noodle).

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sukiyaki/Shabu Shabu

Are you familiar with collagen hotpot? Suki Group has opened its doors to bring in collagen hotpot Japanese buffet. This is unlike any other collagen hotpot, this is the FIRST and ONLY collagen hotpot in BUFFET style! They provide more than 100 over variety of items to choose from. You can choose to have it as a steamboat, shabu shabu or even Zosu (Japanese rice porridge), all in a pot of collagen soup.

Free flow of of collagen soup so drink to your heart's content. They also provide Himalayan pink rock salt, collagen soup shoyu and hot kimchi paste. P.S. add accordingly to your pereference of your tastebuds.

The buffet line includes noodles, seafood, pork and beef, raw minced bamboo shoots, vegetables and more. As the collagen pudding needs about 10mins to melt thus fill your stomach with cooked dishes like chawanmushi, tempura, sushi and many many more. With the price for collagen buffet, it's pretty worthly though the location can be a bit far off to certain people.

Vintage Cafe Smile Jul 31, 2014

Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes | Brunch

Located in Lorong Kilat and requires a bus from the nearest MRT stations are either Clementi or Bukit Batok. It can be a nice chill out place but note that the cafe is free seating thus you might have to share tables as they have long and big round tables. I like the handmade pastries but it can get too sweet or dry for some, my personal opinion smile  For instance, the cheesecake  being too sweet and the the brownie a tad too dry for me. You know it when you have to drink a sip of water after every bite.

However, I do like the oven baked Mushroom Quiche, which comes in salad side too! If you are looking for something more filling, you can either go for quiches or sandwiches.

For photos of what I've tried, please visit http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2014/06/carpenter-and-cook-lorong-kilat.html

From appetisers to mains to desserts, all dishes are categorised in Thai, North Indian and Western cuisines. Located in the heart of Holland Village, towards the more cast off side (not the lane with the pubs), down slope towards Sushi Tei.

The menu is separated into 3 sections as such:
Thai Yai: Chef Nang’s Thai cookery inspired by street food in Bangkok and Changmai.
Masala Mantra: Serves the authentic North Indian favourites.
The French Onion: Chef Mike Chung’s Western cookery from lamb shank to pasta.
From the North Indian fare

Certain appetisers and mains are slightly above average but some has room for improvements. Sad to say, desserts was a tad disappointment. For more info, visit http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2014/07/the-fat-cat-bistro-holland-village.html

Plus points for family with kids, they have kids portions for Western pastas and a a short list of food to choose from in Thai's menu.

Recommended Dish(es):  Garlic and Butter Naan with Chicken Masala

Fan of seafood like crabs? Or grilled steaks? Enjoy the scrumptious Seafood and Barbeque Buffet which are served on Fridays and Saturdays. Prawns were very fresh and the snow crabs were sweet and tasty, sadly it wasn't on my second visit there.

Barbeque are outdoors, so don't worry about being smoky. A wide variety of barbeque food such as lamb chop, salmon, crayfish, scallop and more.
