A street style concept shop serving authentic German sausages, currywurst and German beer.

Music playing away from this small player entertaining customers while they wait for their food.

Bratwurst, Chicken, Nurnberger, Krakauer and Bockwurst are the five types of sausages they serves here.

Order just the sausage at S$8 or go for a set. Choose between set 1 (S$12) or set 2 (S$16) which includes a sausage, french fries and soft drink (set 1) or Flensburger (set 2). Both comes with a bread roll too.

If you are a fan of currywurst, its also available here. Ala carte order at S$10 (150g) or set order that comes with french fries and soft drink (S$14) or Flensburger (S$18).

A big eater or prefer varieties? No worries, the wurstbox set is the answer. Where you can select three sausages and, the same with other sets, it comes with french fries and soft drink (S$25) or Flensburger (S$30).

Wow! Sausages and bread rolls on the grill

With only one staff manning the shop, orders will take awhile to complete as sausages and bread rolls are grilled when orders are made.

Set 1 (S$12) with Bratwurst
You can opt to change the french fries to salad and soft drink to bottled water.

German Potato Salad
My dining partner chose this. The potatoes are semi soft and this salad taste a little sour.

Stick to french fries and soft drink.

Nurnberger and Bread Roll
This intense grilled flavour pork sausage is more tasty and less salty than the other. The outer layer of the bread roll is a tad too tough though.

French Fries
The salted fries are the soft type and it taste good. Would prefer if the sauce is served separately.

Categories : French | Restaurant | Desserts and Cakes | Roasted Meat

Being a frequent diner at Poulet, I have tried most of the items in their menu. Following the majority, we visited their Chinatown Point outlet for a birthday lunch celebration.

Celebration starts with their popular entree and soup.

French Onion Soup (S$5.90)
Beef stock with caramelised french onion topped with cheese croutons, this taste a little more sour than what I have tasted before.
A little sour than before

Escargot De Bourgogne (S$8.90)
Burgundy snails with tomato fondue and almond garlic butter. This is piping hot when served and the escargots matches well with the tomato and garlic butter maintaining the standard of this dish.
Yummy!

Yummy!

Two sides to go along with the meal.

French Fries (S4.90)
Birthday girl's favourite. It's really scorching hot so be extra careful when you bite it.

Marron Rice (S2.90)
Chestnut rice is a little dry in texture but its so fragrant that will make you finish it.

Here comes our gluttonous order.

Braised Pork Belly (S$15.90)
Served with mashed potato, baby spinach and double mustard, the pork belly is tender even the fatty part is melting and not oily at all.

Mushroom Pissaladiere (S$11.90)
Oven baked pastry topped with caramelised onion jam and button mushrooms. Fluffy and crispy pastry base is the main attraction of this with all the toppings complementing it.

Poulet Roti with Mushroom Chardonnay Sauce (S$15.90) - Half
The famous poulet roti in creamy homemade fresh button mushroom chardonnay sauce. Tender and flavourful chicken with the creamy sauce enhancing it. Sauce is really creamy, opt for other sauce if you can't take creamy stuff.

Duck Au Vin (S$15.90)
Braised duck thigh in red wine sauce served with carrot, bacon and mushrooms. Duck thigh was braised till tender and the red wine sauce goes well with it.

Its dessert time again!

Tiramisu (S$7.90)
Smooth creamy texture with espresso and rum syrup soaked sponge finger, this is our favourite dessert!

Creme Brulee (S$8.90)
Smooth textured egg custard covered with caramelised sugar that is so crispy and warm, definitely the highlight of this dessert. Some may find it too sweet though.

Earle Swensen's (JEM Outlet) OK May 10, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Restaurant | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Halal

Those were the days that we frequently visited their Vivocity outlet. It has really been a long time since then and this time we visited their JEM outlet.

As we made our way into the restaurant, the salad buffer bar wouldn't go unnoticed as its at the left side near to the main entrance.

Salad Buffet Bar (Ala Carte - S$15.90) or Free with Any MAINS Order
All-you-can eat salad bar. A wide selection of compound salads, mixed greens, fruits and a variety of ingredients & garnishings.

My own salad creation of healthy greens with Earle's salad dressing. The dressing has a little spicy taste.

Crackers are also served at the salad buffet bar with cheese sauce to go along. It will be great if they provide saucers for the cheese sauce so that we can really dip the crackers into it.

Tuna Quesadillas (S$8.90)
Juicy chunks of tuna wrapped in a tortilla shell with melted mozzarella cheese and rich sour cream. Tortilla is soft and matches with the tuna & melted cheese. This is indeed delicious.

Cafe Latte (S$5.90)
A perk-me-up cuppa for the caffeine addict.

Earle's Poultry Combo (S$28.50)
Charbroiled combo of chicken sausage, sliced smoked duck, chicken thigh strips and chicken breast drizzled with herb onion gravy.

The smoked duck and chicken thigh strips are tender but the chicken breast is a little tougher. The sausage has cheese oozing out on every bite but the texture is a tad too soft. The fragrant gravy adds flavour to the whole dish.

Eat At Taipei (JCube Outlet) OK May 10, 2015

Categories : Taiwanese

Recalled the two not so satisfying dining experience at both their Chinatown Point and this JCube outlet a couple of years back. Returning again at the request of my dining partners who wanted to check this place out.

Here comes the food for our dinner.

Iced Yuzu Green Tea 冻柚子绿茶 (S$4.50)
A refreshing and yet not too sweet drink.

Iced Lychee Tea 冻荔枝花茶 (S$4.50)
Didn't expect it to come in this colour. The taste is quite good with lychee fruit in it.

Azuki with Milk Ice-Blended 红豆牛奶沙冰 (S$5.50)
Azuki was soft but couldn't really taste the milk. Would have been better if the milk taste is a little stronger.

Taiwanese-style Fried Rice 台式炒饭 (S$10.50)
A rather tasty dish. The disappointment is that the rice is too soggy.

Taichung Night Market Vermicelli in 'Dang Gui' Herbal Duck Soup 台中中华夜市当归鸭肉面线 (S$10.50)
Very strong 'dang gui' and herbal taste making the soup flavourful and with the tender duck meat, this is one of the better dish tonight. The soup is a tad oily though.
Delicious...

Tainan Vermicelli in Sesame Oil Chicken Soup 台南麻油鸡面线 (S$10.50)
Well, this is really too oily probably due to the sesame oil. Chicken was tender but the vermicelli wasn't the soft type that my dining partner prefers.

Yogart Smile May 07, 2015

Categories : Frozen Yogurt

Yoghurt and soft serve craze continues. Latest joining in the trend is Yogart, a dessert place serving locally handcrafted artisan yoghurt.

Occupying a small shop space in Burlington Square, there are rather limited seats for dine in.

The patient staff plays a vital role in providing good service by explaining and showing us the options they offer in the menu.

1. Delight
Small - Plain (S$3.20) / 1 Topping (S$4.20)
Medium - 2 Toppings (S$5.20)
Large - 3 Toppings (S$6.20)

2. Bliss (S$6.20)

3. Chic
Artisanal Popsicle (S$2.80)

Yoghurt popsicles - quite an interesting creation.

A variety of flavours are available. Mainly fruity but there are also sweet flavours like their latest addition - Nutella Banana.

Six choices available for selection under each category at the toppings bar.

Bites - Oreo Crumbs, Caramelised Cookie, Digestive Cookie, Almonds, Granola, Nuts&Oats Cookie.

Fresh Fruits - Watermelon, Kiwi, Rockmelon, Blueberry, Strawberry, Mango.

Homemade Sauces - Dark Chocolate, Rum & Raisins, Coco Bianco, Summer Berries, Passion Fruit, Mango Tango.

4. The Classic - Waffles
Deluxe - 1 Sauce + Frozen Yoghurt (S$6.80)
Premium - 1 Sauce + Frozen Yoghurt + 2 Fresh Fruits (S$8.80)

Many of us would have eaten waffles with ice cream before, but waffles with yoghurt is the first for me.

Hence, premium waffles is what I have chosen today.

Frozen Yoghurt
Their frozen yoghurt is soft and taste more sourish than the others which melts away quite fast. The crispy round wafer becomes their icon with their logo imprinted on it.

Waffles and Fresh Fruits
The waffles are the non crispy kind. The sourness of the frozen yoghurt is a wonderful pair with the soft textured waffle making you feel less sinful and not too full after consuming it. In addtion to this, the mangoes are sweet and blueberries are really fresh.

Homemade Sauces
As we didn't want to spoil our first experience, we made a conservative choice of the Dark Chocolate sauce. The sauce is thick with a strong chocolate taste minus the bitterness of dark chocolate. Mixing it with the frozen yoghurt minimises the sourness in it.

Grateful to the staff who was really nice to give us a little of the Rum & Raisins sauce to try after we expressed great interest of it. I find its a little diluted with not much rum taste.

A quote from the shop "Yoghurt Makes You Happy" - and yes it does, at least for me.
