Three by Table Concepts OK Dec 19, 2014

Categories : French | Japanese | Thai | Restaurant

A new restaurant, Three by table concepts, opened at the new Seletar Mall. Situated just opposite the Foodfare foodcourt, the whole area is buzzling with heavy crowds & noise level is high..

We were brought to our seats fast as restaurant was not filled up. Probably because it's new & lack popularity compared to other familiar big brands within the mall. Menus were presented to us by staff without smile.. Looking round the whole place, rest of staff seems uncertain too, I guessed they're all new & lack experience.

[Three] delivers fusion concept with Thai, French, Japanese cuisines all in 1 place. Menu varieties are wide, many dishes to choose from & all pictures of food make us drool. We quickly ordered our food as the pictures made us feel SooOOo hungry.

Food was served quite slow and the servers kept serving other tables' food to us, not attentive enough. Teamwork was rather bad as we can see servers pushing responsibilties to each other while dishes were served wrongly. We asked for small plates & they gave us bowls.. Lol

In all, We ordered two appetizers & a combo platter to share. First one was the "lemongrass chicken wings". To our disappointment, the wings were burnt & totally 0 lemongrass taste nor smell. Second appetizer was "garlic pork". The pork slices are very dry & tough, not worth to mention about.

As for our main, we had "family sea & farm" platter. It consists of grilled squid, sausage on mash potato, half roast chicken on pineapple rice, deep fried fish fillet on coleslaw, some greens & thai mango salad. This platter was quite delicious.

Squid texture was soft & not overcooked. Mash potato was creamy & smooth. Roast chicken has a coconut fragrant on the skin. The pineapple rice beneath it was filled with raisins & overpowering lemongrass aftertaste. I like the fish fillet most! So crispy on the outside & fresh on the inside! Yummy! I finished up the thai mango salad too because it's so appetizing with their own recipe of zesty Thai sauce + peanuts + dried shrimps smile

Although this first visit wasn't very impressed by their service but I will come back again to try the other dishes on the menu. Hopefully they will be as good as the platter that we enjoyed!

Total spending S$56.95

A new halal concept cafe/ice cream Parlour in the east. Situated at upper changi road, it occupies a small 10 seater unit in East Village. The place is very easy to find, it is just opposite simpang bedok hawker.

When I first stepped into Salty Peanut, I was greeted by the friendly staff & this is a good start! I asked my hubby to find himself a seat while I go "explore" the ice cream!

There are more than 10 choices of ice cream. When I ask the staff to intro me to the nicer ones, he said ALL ARE NICE smile He allows me to try all!! Woohoo so nice!!

The interior was quite simple with superhero portraits, a clock that needs some calculation before you know the time (hahaha) & one old skool camera hung on the pillar.

Personally, I like their signature Salted Peanut the most!! It's really yummy! So it landed on my waffle.. Heehee! As for the 2nd ball, I chose Espresso! Love the coffee richness & I know my Kopi-fanatic hubby wold love it too. It's $10.50 for waffle with 2 balls of ice cream, price is reasonable.

Overall experience was good! I will come back for more PEANUTS!!

I was having my lunch at Popeyes located at Tebing lane when I saw this newly opened cafe, Whisk & Paddle, situated at one corner. (Oops.. New owner again! The previous few management of that unit all didn't last long.) This W & P cafe wasn't very obvious because the view was eventually blocked by the steamboat restaurant next to it, they are co-sharing.
The overall deco of W & P was cozy, relaxing and of course the beautiful scenery around it is a plus point Browsing through the menu, one conclusion, prices are on the high side but they do serve from starters/snacks to mains to desserts.
Since my fried chicken lunch not yet digested, I could only squeeze in desserts! I ordered a Passionfruit tart with Hot Cuppucino while my younger brother ordered their Honeycomb vanilla milkshake.
For the Passionfruit tart, although the crust is abit too hard for my liking but the Passionfruit curd is good. Combination of sweet & tangy, it's perfect! The chocolate macaroon on top of the tart is choco-licious too. The fragrant Cuppucino together with the pretty scenery makes me immersed in own my coffee-island!! Hahaha..
As as for my youngest brother's choice of Honeycomb Vanilla milkshake, he loves it lot.. After I took a sip from his glass, I totally understood!! It's sOooo sweet & my brother has a sweet tooth smile Comes with chocolate pocky sticks too!
Overall experience here at Whisk & Paddle was pretty good. Staff are very friendly too. I will come back for their mains real soon!
Happy Cafe-ing, Folks!

New Cafe at East Smile Dec 04, 2014

Categories : Café | Burgers and Sandwiches

I came upon this new cafe at Bedok Reservoir & decides to give it a try. This new cafe, Refuel, was situated at a corner of Blk 744, next to a popular bird shop.

When I first stepped in, the staff inside did not offer any smiles nor approach me to take order, so I just got hold of the menu & find myself a seat & sat down.

Orders are taken at the counter. Staff are all youngsters & I believe they're newly employed because they have no answers to any of my questions. For my drink, I ordered a long black. It's accompanied with a Pulled Pork Burger & Baked Mama's Wings. Dessert is Rasberry Tart with Vanilla ice cream.

i received my food probably 10-15mins later. The presentation was good. Food tastes good too. The pork in the burger was sweet & tender. The sides which were the salad are nicely soaked in zesty dressing. And the baked wings  are well marinated too.

My dessert of Rasberry tart made the deepest impression for this visit. The thick sinful chocolate with hints of Rasberry filled my whole mouth & tummy with happiness. It's not too sweet too! I love it.

i will definitely revisit this cafe soon! Hope the staff will have more smiles on my next visit.
