McGrill Chicken Salad Smile May 08, 2011

AWESOME CHICKEN.

Love their McGrill Chicken. It's something that you should order if you are constantly having McSpicy and really need to cut down on the fat.

Decided to give this a shot as I end work pretty late that day and did not want to risk putting a few inches along my waist.

Everything about this is great. Green vegs, red tomatoes. Delicious salad. The dressing is really awesome! Thousand island. & If you are as adventurous as me, you can request for CURRY SAUCE and smear it all over. Yummms~

It's a little on the pricey side though, $5.65 for one plate of vegs...

Lemon Lime Chicken Smile May 08, 2011

Astons - The classic one.

Western food for a very reasonable price. Decided to try this dish out instead of my usual hickory/sausages and I will say that its really good.

Chicken came not too greasy, nor too salty. Just nice. However, I find it ironical that I did not touch the lemon lime sauce at all, instead, I prefer the mushroom sauce that my friend requested. smile

I chose corn and pasta salad as my sides in bid to go "healthy" as I heard of the corn is one of those succulent, juicy, fat ones. However, to my dismay, it just tasted like.. corn soaked in hot water for 3 minutes and then smeared in butter. It does not taste very sweet and juicy.. it tasted a little bland.. ):

Pasta salad was fine though, standard.

Probably the best aglio olio for a reasonable price, ever.

Decided to try this cafe out since I was hanging around the city area. Food was served by the boss himself within 10minutes, He gave me a glass of water too as the aglio olio is quite spicy. Hmm, talk about GEMS.

This is one of my favourite dish on the menu, the aglio olio was served piping hot and it really smell DAMN GOOD.It isn't too olio nor salty, it just right. Savoury, spicy, with a hint of sweetness in the chicken.

As aglio olio is meant to be an oily dish, this dish intelligently incorporated an "Oven-baked Chicken" so that it will not taste too oily to make you feel disgusted and sick. Will definitely go back there again.
lol

P/S Please note that this cafe accept cash only.. sad

J.CO Fat-Free Yogurt Cry May 03, 2011
Categories : Bakery

Was anticipating to try out J.CO’s yogurt after being guilt-ridden for consuming a double cheeseburger upsized with seaweed fries for lunch. I mean, since its fat-free, why not?

Pricing wise is reasonable, but not really what you should pay for the portion that you are getting. (Will elaborate later)
Yumms

I took up couple size since I wasn’t sure of paying $3 for such a small cup of yogurt with just one topping. Hence, I decided to go along with the former as it comes with a 2+1free topping. Overall, it looks pretty decent like any other yogurt, comes with fresh fruits or the usual fruits/cereals. I chose strawberries, nata de coco as well as kiwi for my choice of toppings.

Taste-wise, the yogurt is served chilled and it tasted pretty much like sorbet. I like it. However, the fruits kind of spoil everything. As mentioned, the yogurt is chilled and oh-so-cold but the fruits, as well as the nata de coco, is served warm. Think of warm fruits, eww.

I’m someone who eat my yogurt and my fruits separately, so if you are going to tell me that “You are going to mix the yogurt with the fruits anyway, so why does it matter if it is warm?”, save your breath.

Another thing that I would like to highlight will be that I saw some flies hankering around the peaches, ON THE PEACHES.. Sales staff should take note of that.. talk about hygiene.

Ok, back to the yogurt. I dismissed all negative thoughts of it since I got a rather generous portion of nata de coco(but only 5 slices of kiwi), and carried on eating my yogurt. To my utter dismay, about 5 minutes in to the eating, I was disappointed.
A picture speaks more than a thousand words.

Approximately 2 fingers. That's pretty disappointing.

Oh well, the ambience here is fine though.

Mee Sua Cry May 01, 2011

Categories : Taiwanese | Stall / Kiosk

Oyster Mee Sua

Was expecting to get a savoury, piping hot mee sua but was disappointed with this. Not only that this bowl of mee sua is warm (Note: Not hot, WARM!) It is not tasty at all!

In fact, all I could taste was just how spicy it was. huffy To the extent that it is a little 2 spicy for me that I have to gulp my bottle of ice water down. (My tolerance of spiciness is about a normal cup noodles type of tomyum ?) To make matters worse, the little meat chunks present in the mee sua taste bland!

In other words, it is just like water + chili, probably with a little corn starch.

1 word - Disappointing.

Maybe I should try Shihlin's next time. mad
