Dim sum place Smile Aug 28, 2011

One of the famous happening spot for family to have breakfast for dimsum on a weekend, u will hardly get a place for walk in because of the crowd.

The dim sum standard are not so authentic enough compare to the others probably dim sim is not their specialty. Xiao long bao skin are thick but taste waste are comparable with din tai fung. One of my favorite must order dish here would be their roasted pork, they serve in a very small portion which makes u feel like ordering it again, nice moderate thickness of crispy skin, marinated well meat, most important they serve it well and cut it nicely just like like 5-star restaurants.

Other hong kong dimsum are quite good, porridge are worth a try too, u will find it very authentic.

romankan yokohama Smile Aug 26, 2011

After a busy day of shopping, time to hunt for food, where i usually try to spot somewhere with less crowd. did not know that taka b2 has lots of hidden gem. i came across this 'stall' tomankan yokohama, very unique setting, with only 2 tables available, and the bar table.

I order rosu katsu which comes with rice and soba, cost about s$15. overall the services are good. it was serve quickly. The katsu were all nicely deep fried, moist inside, crispy outside served in a hot pan with nice and neat presentation. Never expect as the best katsu as the price are half of tonkichi. But as a food-court standard it is over what i expected.

Highly recommended by my friend so I decided to give it a try.

Shokudo Tofu Cheese Cake! is to die for! its lovely and soft like beancurd, totally different kind of experience having cheesecake. It is not as creamy as the usual cheesecake as u can feel healthier eating it because it is made of tofu! It is also serve in good presentation, with some light strawberry jam overall. Not a heavy dessert after a massive meal. Just right.

Other food in shokudo are just average, especially pizza, sandwiches and pasta. nothing impressive.

Best Puff! Smile Aug 26, 2011

One of the Great genuine Japanese-style cream puffs selling in singapore. The pastry shell is a oversized puff that is soft but has a crusty top that you can just tear into. You can just smell the pastry when you first walk in if they are still baking in the oven that is location right behind the counter!

Vanilla custard filling are not too sweet, it's really light and what made me really like it is the cream in it is not overly sweet or filling at all. And they actually serve it fresh!

cheap food for lunch Smile Aug 26, 2011

I love hanging out at this place during lunch time to avoid the crowd! and the food are extremely cheap too.

During promotion time bubble tea are range from 70 cents onwards, and i love how they made the waffle with plenty filling and selling only 1.20. Very school canteen kind of food and brings back all my childhood memory where u crave for a simple fish burger after a long day at school! It is not an ordinary burger, they added a slice of cheese and lots of mayonnaise!

Besides, they do have some wide range of snacks too like fries, hot dog and etc. Friendly boss, and regular gets discount too!
