economic lunch OK May 15, 2011

I find economic beehoon/rice stalls well value for money as i can easily get breakfast/ lunch for about $2 and slightly more if i top up vegetables or other side dishes.
For today i ordered their nasi lemak set which comes with chicken wing and a sunny cheery egg that is cooked the way i like.
The chicken wing is slightly crispy and hot, i like that it was well flavoured.
I didnt ask for chilli which i usually would, as i was having sorethroat that day.

Spending per head: Approximately $2

dinner OK May 15, 2011

As usual, i had economic rice again for dinner,
as we seldom do cooking at home ourselves unless during special occasion.
The portion here they gave is quite big, hence i was quite full for dinner.
The steam egg is nice and a bit salty, but its okay, i like it.
The vegetables was nicely done, not too soggy.
The stewed chicken is average as well, could be better if they add in some sliced chilli.

Spending per head: Approximately $2.5

lunch OK May 15, 2011

I had my order after a queue of about 15 minutes which was pretty long
as it was packed during lunch time.
I ordered a luncheon meat, stewed cabbages
as well as a steamed egg.
It tasted pretty average , at least the items were not over salty or loaded with msg.
Quite healthy i would say.
I may come again to try other food items.

I have been attracted by Newyork new york and setting for a long time and wanted to try them out.
It is a novelty for them to provide sweet nice candyfloss too.
I was very attracted by their lunch promo which was at 8.99 ++ onwards for a main dish + drink + scoop of ice cream.
I had their curry rice and mango juice, plus a scoop of strawberry icecream.
Portion is ok, i like the presentation of the dish.
The curry is slightly spicy , and quite nice.
I like the sunny egg that was topped on my rice.
The mango drink was refreshing as well as the complimentary scoop of ice cream.

breakfastt OK May 15, 2011

This was what i ordered for breakfast, not much of a queue as i was there on my offday,
i reached about 11 am which was considered late , as it was nearing lunch hours.
I ordered the standard set that comes with the vegetarian charsiw and cabbages, as well as the fried taukee.
The beehoon were lightly seasoned, i feel this is a very healthy meal,
i should eat vegetarian food more often after eating from the stall,
as they taste very nice, not as bland as i thought.
