Brunch @ Blackbird Smile Apr 10, 2012

I was at the Blackbird Cafe for brunch with some friends. It was quite crowded at about 11.30am, we had to wait for awhile before getting our seats. Everyone in the cafe were having breakfast meals that looked really appetizing. The atmosphere was relaxed with popular music at the background, a very good place to hang out in the morning. They offer a good range of breakfast options including pancakes, omelettes and croques. I ordered the ham and cheese croque which was presented very well with salad. The salad was fresh, complemented with a light yet tasty dressing. The croque had two thick toast filled with ham and cheese within. The creamery sauce over it made it less dry and it was definitely a vey filling but delicious breakfast meal. The prices are not that exorbitant either, breakfast meals ranging from 10-18 dollars.

Spending per head: Approximately $12

Shepherd's Pies Smile Jan 02, 2012

Ordered Shepherd's Pie from Dad's Shepherd's Pie for a christmas party. They delivered the pies one day before and we had to heat it up on the day itself. Nevertheless, the pies still tasted great! We ordered the four different flavours, black pepper chicken and beef, chili and the oriental. I tried the black pepper beef. It was a little too peppery and spicy, not suitable for children. But the potatoes inside were creamy and soft, together with the outside crust, it was a mouthwatering experience! The pies are quite big so one pie could be shared between two persons. smile

raisins. walnut.

Bought this fruit cake for a christmas party. It was quite wholesome with lots of raisins and nuts in it. The nuts included cashew nuts and walnuts. The cake texture was good, although I put it in the fridge for a few days, it still tasted good. The cake was not too heavy or rich. It was presented in a nice box for the Christmas period and is perfect for a gift. smile

Sausage and Egg

Sausage and Egg

It was an early morning in town. Passed by DOM cafe at the Singapore Art Museum and decided to have breakfast there. The place and surroundings was very pleasant and welcoming to dine in. I ordered the sausage and egg breakfast set which cost about $8.90 and an iced cappuccino. Food was served fast enough for my hungry belly. In the breakfast set, there were about four pieces of sausages, scrambled eggs (you could choose sunny side too), toast with butter and jam and a huge roasted tomato. The toast was good, hearty and fragrant bread with lots of seeds in it which was toasted very evenly and well. I love the sausages, although there were so many, i did not feel sick finishing them all. They were just too delicious, not too salty.

The iced cappuccino was served in a cool glass. It was not too thick or diluted, just appropriate. You add your own syrup so you can adjust the sweetness level of your coffee. smile

Egg tart  OK Jan 02, 2012

Yum yum yum, delicious and mouth watering egg tart for dessert. Although a little small, the egg tart was very good. The crust was still crispy, not too thick. The egg pudding was a little watery and could have been thicker but the taste was still there, strong. I enjoyed it although it was gone within three bites. smile
