Attracted to the lovely cakes, i went into nydc to try their “i heart you”. It’s a red velvet cake, topped with cream cheese. Am i expecting too much? rather, the appearance is deceiving. The cake is dry and the taste of cheese is too bland. Definitely better choices around. Nice ambience though.

laska steamboat Smile Sep 07, 2011

Great value! For less than $20, you get cold and hot side dishes apart from the standard steamboat ingredients( meat, veg, seafood and many more). They have a wide variety of fried food, nuggets, chicken wing, tofu, wanton, spring roll and man tou. The chicken wing is a must try!! As for their cold dishes, i only tried the jellyfish. Well... taste is acceptable but i more sauce should be added. It’s a little bland.

Now for the steamboat! I choose the laksa and chicken soup base. I was quite surprised that the chicken soup base actually has seaweed and red dates which is different from the clear soup most steamboat restaurant provide. Well, even before even tasting, that does earn them a high review visually. The laksa base goes well with fresh meat and vegetable while the other food( eg hotdog luncheon meat) will be better complemented by the chicken soup base. The taste of the laksa soup base is not exceptionally great but still worth a try considering the wide variety of food. The food served are also fresh and in small servings. You’ll have to order what you want which is good( at least you know the food are not left in open air for a long period of time and it saves you from the trouble of having to squeeze to get what you want). The small serving size also ensure that there are minimal wastage (you don’t have to worry about having to pay more for wastage.)

The service is very good! The waitresses/ waiters are very welcoming and are very polite. Didn’t make a wasted trip! Very satisfied and will definitely visit again! smile

cheap and good! Smile Apr 03, 2012

Food that is friendly to the wallet and satisfactory to the stomach is hard to find in the central business district. This yong tau foo stall is one of the minority. Charging 50 cents for each item, min 5 peices, will add up to $3 and an additional 20 cents for take-away. That makes $3.20, a price that is comparable to market stalls. As it is under kopitiam, you get a 10% discount if you pay using the kopitiam card, making the food even more price competitive.

Food items are fresh and serving is just nice. One bad thing is that when you take-away, you either get the soup or you get the sauce. separate packing of sauce or soup is not available as far as i know.

Overall, i am very satisfied with the meal. Highly recommended. will visit again.

Categories : American | Café | Brunch

It’s a good place to settle down for brunch after morning walk. The heavy meal is just enough to satisfy the craving for something unhealthy after perspiration. They offer both indoor and outdoor environment so people who doesn’t like to stay in aircon environment have an alternative. Simple pleasures that tou don’t have to spend big bucks to enjoy!
