Cost has always been the biggest factor in choosing caterers. As such, most of the time we have to compromise with either the quality of food or the service. However, recently, I was being introduced to Orange Clove. I was at a wedding seminar and I was really impressed by their service and quality of food.

The arrangement of the table and food was very professionally done. This is something lacking in most other caterers. While you think the quality of the food may be compromised, that's when you are wrong. The spread of the food was great. It covered both international and asian cuisines, which was able to please almost every participant at the event. The portions were sufficient for everyone as well.

I liked the desserts the most as they were not too sweet and there was a wide variety to choose from. The yakitori they served were very tasty too. This was the most popular dish amongst all as it was cleaned out within a short span of time.

I'll definitely engage them if I'm planning a party on my own! tongue

Shabu Hana Smile Sep 20, 2010

It was a random rainy night so my friend and I decided to try out Shabu Shabu at Shabu Hana. This restaurant is a cosy little place, only ideal for small groups. They only have one table for 4 and the rest will have to be seated at the bar. As it serves yakitori as well, you may be stinked with BBQ smell after you leave the place. Otherwise, if the weather permits, one can choose to sit outside (alfresco).

My friend and I tried the Kimchi-Miso based shabu shabu hotpot that night. They were serve in a set which comprises the soup, pork belly, a large plate of assorted vegetables and a choice of ramen, udon or rice. The pork belly was very fresh and the soup was a little spicy, but it tasted just right with the veggies and pork. If you like the soup to be spicier, you can choose to throw the kimchi into the soup for a stronger taste. This set was just enough for two. If it's not sufficient for the men, you can always order extra yakitori to go along with the hotpot.

They also serve a wide variety of sakaes and sojus. We tried lemon soju and it was pretty sweet. Just right for ladies I must say. It is an ideal chill-out place for dating couples, except for the smell that leaves on your clothes if you choose to sit indoor. I will revisit the place if I have the craving for hotpot. smile
