Botak's grill OK Nov 07, 2011

Categories : American | Restaurant | Steaks and Grills

Have tried other Botak Jones restaurant so my friend suggested that we try out Botak's Backyard. The location wasn't too easy to find and we actually drove past the entrance a few times. The ambiance was good. It's quiet, cosy and the friendly staff added to our wondrous dining experience.
Italian (pork) hot dog

Italian (pork) hot dog

I ordered the Italian (Pork) Sausage. The fries is crispy and yummy. The sausage wasn't really that fantastic...wasn't the taste that I am used to whenever I have pork sausages. But I guess the good and fast service made up for the lack.
Cream of mushroom

Cream of mushroom

Love the mushroom soup. Comes with strong mushroom taste and you can even find sliced mushroom in the soup. Only problem is that it's not creamy enough....

Total spent:
Soup of the day - $4.80
Italian (pork) hot dog - $11.80
Bitter lemon - $3.50

Spending per head: Approximately $20(Dinner)

Whiskey experience Smile Oct 19, 2011

Whiskey sampler

Whiskey sampler

Not really a whiskey drinker so don't really know what to order. The staff recommended that since this is my first time in a whiskey bar, I should go for the samples. It's a choice of any 5 types of whiskey. I still don't quite know how to appreciate. But the ambiance is amazing...I love it.
Mixed sausages

Mixed sausages

Yummy and juicy mixed sausages done to perfection! A good compliment to all the whiskey they have in the shop. Best eaten hot...a bit too much oil though.
Baked potato

Baked potato

Baked potato with lots of bacon bits. Good color addition to the boring and plain color to potato. Taste nice when you are hungry. Alright, I'm not a baked potato person. Good as snacks.
Fries

Fries

Big fat fries served piping hot! Can't be compared to those from MacDonald's.
Smoked beef

This nasty little thing is yummy!! Though not on the top of my list in Quaich bar, it still ranks second. Not filling at all so you have the excuse of ordering 5 plates and not feel guilty. Love how thinly it is cut.

Spending per head: Approximately $50(Supper)

Japan's freshness in Singapore Smile Sep 02, 2011

Sashimi

Sashimi

Very fresh sashimi. Quite pricey though but the conducive environment made up for the price. I love the salmon smile
Tori Karaage

Tori Karaage

$7.80 - tender chicken. Love it that it's not overpowered by flour. Thinly coated with flour so the entire flavor of the chicken stays.
chawanmushi

chawanmushi

There's a huge prawn inside the chawanmushi. Its nice but I prefer the one in Sakae sushi which is extremely soft and watery. Then again, not everyone likes their chawanmushi too watery.
salmon skin

salmon skin

One of the best salmon skin I've ever had. Love the crispiness and the fact that it's not coated with too much flour. Best of all...not very oily too!
mixed grill

mixed grill

This thing is too salty for me. The meat is cooked well but whatever sauce they used to grill the meat isn't my cup of tea.
lobster maki

lobster maki

$15.80 - I like this dish not only for the lobster also I cannot deny that I like lobster. The taste is simple and not complicated with many different flavors. I like!!
Mixed grill

Mixed grill

Too salty for my taste. The mushroom is nice though. Love the slightly bitter taste that the salty sauce didn't manage to cover.
BBQ onigiri

BBQ onigiri

This BBQed gave a different taste to the normally tasteless onigiri.

Spending per head: Approximately $60(Dinner)

BBQ Chicken wings

BBQ Chicken wings

I'm a die hard fan of BBQ chicken wings! So I'm just gonna say I love it especially when lime juice is squeezed all over the wings! The crispy skin and the tender chicken meat makes this dish worth going back for more. However, I must point out that the ones I had in KL still top the list!

Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls

Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls

The prawn is fresh, vegetables are fresh. Interesting restaurant!! I can't commend on the quality of this item because........you have to prepare this dish yourself. This was taken during a corporate bonding event where teams were splitted into groups to compete with each other. Each team would be allocated with 3 recipes and kitchen assistants were available to help clean up our mess. The chef was also there to guide us as we cook. Nice place to corporate events. Best of all, the recipe is yours to keep.
