sliced fish soup  OK Apr 29, 2012
Categories : Food Court | Chinese Soup

My hubby and I settled for dinner at Kou Fu and I decided to order the fish soup with rice. The fish soup has fresh fish slices, vegetables, some smooth tofu and seaweed. For $4.50, I felt that the tofu can certainly be more generous since tofu isn't a really expensive ingredient and the amount given is quite little. The fish is nice and not tough at all even though it was firm. The soup base is also quite tasty. If the portion can be increased a little, I will definitely be a regular customer.

mushroom soup OK Apr 20, 2012

I decided to have something light for lunch since I had a heavy breakfast. I chanced upon Expresssoup and decide to try it since it is just what I need as it has breads and soups. There is quite a variety of different soups, but I settled for the mushroom soup since that is a soup which I can never get tired of. The soup is quite creamy and there are little specks of mushroom in it. I preferred having more bite so the little specks of mushroom did not really appeal to me. I have had much better mushroom soups so I would probably try to avoid this next time since it isn’t really worth the money.

average dinner OK Apr 14, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

I dined at Senki around last month when I met up with my ex colleague from work. We both like sashimi, which made our order of the platter a natural choice. In addition, we also tried their tempura as well as udon. The tempura batter is light and crisp and the prawns are fresh. Both of us agreed this is good. The sashimi is a little of a let down because I felt that it isn't as fresh as I would have liked, so this is just average for me. The udon is just to fill our tummies, so not too much expectations. Overall, it is average only with the tempura being very tasty.

freshly toasted garlic bread OK Apr 12, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Pasta | Halal

Me and my hubby went to pastamania for a light snack after our movie since we did not really have a filling lunch. At around 4+, the restaurant is quite empty which is why we choose this place since we could sit and have our light snack for a longer time. We just ordered the garlic bread and their mushroom soup. For some reason, the mushroom soup is served quite cold, so that is a real disappointment since it does not taste good. Luckily, the garlic bread is quite tasty since it is warm and crisp and each slice is spread quite evenly with the garlic spread. My advice is to avoid the soup here and just order drinks.

v8 lunch OK Apr 12, 2012
Categories : Singaporean | Bakery | Café

V8 is located in quite a secluded corner in Bugis Junction which is quite easy to miss if you did pay heed to your surroundings. I went there because there is relatively less people on the weekday noon and we didn't want to wait since we are catching a movie later. I ordered the chicken cutlet. It comes with fries and some cabbage as well as the sauce for dipping the chicken/fries. The chicken cutlet is quite tasty, but a little too thin in my opinion. It would be better if the cut is larger. The fries are just normal, a little too cold. Overall, I would probably not come here again since there are many other choices in Bugis.
