ramen OK Apr 09, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen

I was lucky I reached early, because shortly after I arrived, there is a queue waiting outside. There are only a few selections of ramen here and I went for the Chashu-men which cost $16 with the negi topping at additional cost. It is their basic ramen with four slices of chashu served in the tonkotsu soup. The chashu soft and tender and is very flavourful after having soaked up the flavours from the soup. The soup is really quite salty and also oily due to the garlic oil which is the characteristic of the soup. I don't really fancy too salty food because it makes me feel very thristy, so I didn't really like it too much, but my friend loved it. So depending on your tastebuds, if you like strong flavours, this will be for you.

kaya butter toast OK Apr 04, 2012
Categories : Singaporean Chinese

After a not so filling dinner, my hubby and I decided to come here for toasts. There are various toasts for us to choose from but we settled for the kaya and butter toasts. The toasts did not take too long to arrive and we ate them immediately. The toasts are crisp and the heat from the toast melted the butter and the kaya together. Personally, I felt that the kaya is too sweet for my taste, so I did not enjoy it as much. Nevertheless, for those who have a sweet tooth, this would be quite alright for you.

beehoon OK Mar 31, 2012

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre

It was a weekend and I was out with my hubby to get breakfast. As the stall on the other coffee shop has a long queue, we decided to settle for the beehoon at this stall which has a very short queue. We ordered 3 packets of noodles and beehoon, and added the fried chicken meat. The beehoon and noodles is average tasting. It is better once you mix it with the chilli which will better enhance its taste. The fried chicken meat is quite substantial being relatively thick, so it is worth the money. Overall, not too bad, but perhaps not as nice as the Guilin food stall in the hawker center behind it.

beef lasagne  OK Mar 30, 2012
Categories : Pasta | Halal

My sister likes pizza hut, so pizza hut it is for our lunch. I got the set meal and I choose the beef lasagne for my main course. I had to wait very long before I was served. Do not order this if you are rushing for time, because it was a good 20minutes of waiting time, even though there isn’t a lot of people. Anyway, the beef lasagne is really really oily. There is a layer of oil (from the cheese) floating on the side of the plate when it was dished to me. It is delicious, but it is far too oily for my liking. I would suggest sharing this if you want to order this in order not to exceed the calories for the day.

happy hour fries OK Mar 30, 2012
Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Halal

I went with my daughter to swensens during the happy hour. During this time, there are relatively less people in the restaurant so the service was much more efficient and we did not have long to wait. The fries come with mayo and chilli sauce. These are like the normal fries outside, but the fries are thicker and have less salt. The portion is quite little as compared to what you can get outside since this is not cheap, but price aside, I find there is nothing special about swensens fries and you are really better off buying from Mcdonalds or long johns.
