Very Berry Deluxe  Smile Nov 22, 2014

Categories : Japanese | Bakery | High Tea | Desserts and Cakes

Brought a Very Berry Deluxe cake from Glace Patisserie in celebration of my mother's birthday. Design wise is quite appealing with the various berries decoration on the top of the cake as well as the ribbon on the side. The cake is formed by two layers of sponge cake with strawberry chunk with cream in between. Texture wise is soft and spongy and has a nice aroma. A total of 3 different types of berries is used which include strawberry, raspberry and blueberry. The berries were very fresh and it goes very well with the sponge cake.
Will definitely recommend to my friends !! like

DIY pasta Smile Nov 20, 2014

With the gaining popularity in pet cafe in Singapore, I have decided to patronise one of the recommended cafe which is Happenstance cafe. This cafe is actually a dog friendly cafe whereby customers are allow to bring their dog along.

As for their menu, it also offers menu for the pet if I'm not wrong. Apart from that, it also allow customer to create their own unique pasta from choosing the sauce, side dishes and type of cheese. I have created the pesto with capsicum, beans and mozzarella cheese pasta. The pasta itself is nicely cooked, not too dry. The pesto sauce goes very well with the pasta as well as the cheese. Lastly, the presentation is also very appealing. Apart from the main dish, I have also ordered the americano coffee which I think is well brewed and has a nice aroma.

Overall quite a good experience at this cafe. Will recommend to all people with their pets !! like

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum | Kids-Friendly

Ordered a plate of 3 different types of meat which consists of the roasted pork, duck and char siew. I’m quite amazed with the roasted pork due to crispy skin and the very nice golden brown colour. Not only that, the texture is also very soft and tender and is not very oily. Next the roasted duck is well cooked, the skin is quite fragrance and goes well with the plum sauce. As for the char siew, it is well marinated and cooked and has a soft and tender texture as well. Apart from this plate of meat, I have also ordered the carrot cake, several dim sum and also their famous char siew bun. Overall, their standard and quality of the food has been maintained and price well is also quite reasonable. [Review from mobile]

Squid ink

After a walk at the tiong bahru market, my family members and I have decided to buy some pastries back home. In the end, we brought several items which includes the squid ink baguette, sugar brioche, raisin croissant and some pies. The moment we step into this shop, we were welcome by the wide variety of 'fake' bread and pastries that is placed on the left side of the shop. On the right hand side will be the range of pastries placed neatly with the friendly and bubbly staff waiting to their our orders. This is actually my first time trying the squid ink baguette as it is seldom or not even found at our bakey shop. Although the outer texture of the baguette is quite hard, it taste quite good and has a mild squid ink aroma in it and has a soft texture on the inside. As for the sugar brioche, coarse sugar is sprinkle on the top with a nice round and golden brown colour. Taste wise has a buttery aroma and has a very soft and fluffly texture. For the price wise, it ranges from $2+ for a sugar brioche to $7 for a pie. Although it is a bit pricey, the quality and taste of the pastries is definitely worth the try.

Old days tea time Smile Aug 19, 2012

Categories : Bakery

When to buy some old days tea time dessert from this stall after notice that the newspaper has a recommendation article for this shop. This bakery shop actually sells old days tea time dessert from mini cakes, puff, tarts to whole cakes. One of my favourite dessert would be the carrot cake, kaya roll and their chicken puff. Firstly, their carrot cake has a moist and soft texture, a slight cinnamon taste and contains slices of carrot. As for the kaya roll, it is actually quite different from the normal swiss roll. The kaya roll actually has a dense cake spread with the thick layer of the kaya mousse. Sweetness wise is not too sweet and is a great combination. Lastly, the chicken puff pastry is well made, has a crispy pastry with a light buttery taste. Sufficient chicken fillings is added in the puff with sufficient seasoning in it. Overall, quite a great old day time dessert and would definetely recommend this to my friends and price wise is quite reasonable.
