Nasi Lemak OK Dec 07, 2014

Categories : Malay

During lunch time hour, long queue can be seen from this stall. This means that the food must be so nice that people are willing to queue for it. So I decided to join the queue and try out on their food. I ordered the nasi lemak rice with grilled chicken, the deep fried cuttlefish and well as the archar. Firstly, the rice was not that fragrance as I would expect. Texture wise is soft and fluffy. Next the grilled chicken is well cooked and is brushed with a sweet sauce. Texture wise is soft and tender and the chicken can be separated from the bones with minimum effort. As for the deep fried cuttlefish, it has a crispy texture which goes very well with the nasi lemak as well as the chili. Lasty, the archar is well seasoned, refreshing and has a slight crunchy texture. Overall, I would say that the food is quite tasty but there is still room for improvement. But price wise is a bit pricey at around $6+ due to the large drumstick for the grilled chicken.

Buffet Lunch Smile Nov 22, 2014

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi | Buffet

In this Japanese buffet, it offers a wide range of Japanese cuisine food which includes sushi, ramen, Japanese steamed egg, curry chicken, salads and other main dishes. Although the price for their lunch is one of the lowest, there is a wide range of their sushi available which include the popularity salmon sushi, ebi sushi as well as the inari beancurd sushi. The sushi is made freshly on the spot and the chef will replenish once it is going low. As for their steamed egg, it has a very smooth and soft texture. At the bottom of the steamed egg contains small chunks of meat and crabmeat. The curry chicken is well cooked and seasoned just that the amount of meat in the curry is quite limited. Overall the variety of food with such a low price is definitely worth a try for people who love Japanese cuisine food.

Ramen Smile Nov 22, 2014

Categories : Japanese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Nowadays it is quite rare to see a ramen stall in the hawker centre. What attracted me to this stall is the unique design of their signboard. What so special about this ramen stall is that it uses an automated ramen cooking machine which boils the ramen given a preset timing and after which it will automatically remove the sieve from the boiling water. Coming to the ramen, the soup base is full of flavours and is well seasoned. As for the ramen itself, the degree of chewiness is just right for ramen. The hard boiled egg is pretty well cooked as it has a slightly watery egg yolk which I personally like it. Lastly, this ramen comes with a chicken cutlet which has a unique marinating seasoning which I personally feel that it is the best of all that I have tried. Thumbs up for the chicken cutlet. like Price wise is around $4.50 to $5.50 depending on the type of ramen. Will definitely patronise this stall again !!

Supper Time  Smile Nov 22, 2014

Categories : Singaporean | Fusion | Café

Time for another supper after a tiring schedule in school.
We ordered several side dishes which includes the chef recommended prata duck roll, assam chicken wing as well as the mushroom and cheese toast. First of all, the prata duck roll is a blend of the traditional prata wrap with the duck meat, several kinds of vegetable as well as the special sauce. This kind of combination is quite unique and the taste is also very different from the traditional duck roll available in the chinese restaurant. Next the assam chicken wing is another unique blend of the assam that is used in fish head curry together with the chicken wing to produce a new flavour. The assam is well seasoned and is not too salty. Lastly, the taste of the mushroom and cheese toast is similar to the pizza just that it is in the toast version. Price wise is reasonable and this cafe also offer a wide range of food choices. Definitely is a good place to hang out with friends !!

Supper Time  Smile Nov 22, 2014

After a trip with friends to USS, we decided to end our day with a supper at the famous prata shop at thomson. We ordered several version of the prata with include the crispy prata, cheese prata and the horlick dinosaur and the teh cino drink. For their crispy prata, the size is a bit small as compared to the normal pain prata. Texture wise is quite crispy on the edge and a little less crispy on the middle. As for the cheese prata, it is quite a good combination and the cheese flavour blend very well with the prata. Their curry sauce come in 2 different version, one of which I think it the normal prata curry. The second sauce which has a color that is slightly towards red was quite addictive, not very sure what sauce is it but it is a little too salty for me.  Apart from this 2 prata, this shop also offer more than 8 different flavours of the prata. Lastly, the teh cino drink is very refreshing, I think it is a blend of the tea together with some kind of milk which I personally quite like the taste of it. Price wise is very reasonable and the food quality is good as well !! like
