Polar curry puff  Smile Mar 06, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Bakery | Kids-Friendly

The ingredients in the curry puff was a lot!;D
I could taste the curry in every bite I took.

The puff skin is not too thick and fully filled with the fillings.
But the curry filling was slightly too spicy and a little bitter.
And the outer is no longer crispy after leaving it for hours until breakfast. We could oven it though.(:

Overall it’s pretty nice lol and it’s really quite worth the money because the filling is a lot.
It’s definitely fulfilling as breakfast.(:
They seem to always have some offers for their puffs, especially this curry puff. Would try other flavours next time ;D

steamboat buffet ;D Smile Mar 06, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hot Pot | Buffet

Was craving for some buffet kind of dinner at cineleisure but other restaurants are having a long queue.
Saw this steamboat buffet located at the corner and there wasn’t any queue. Went through the menu and it looks good.

Choose the sukiyaki and the kimchi soup base. Was attracted by the kimchi soup base that was rare at other restaurants ;D
The kimchi soup base requires topping up of $10 though.
But it’s worth that topping up because we liked the kimchi soup. lol

It’s not too spicy and has moderate proportion of spicy and sourness.
The sukiyaki was not bad too, clear and refreshing.(:

The buffet style was to order items we wanted through the order slip which was passed to the staff when we’re ready.
There are chicken meat, beef and pork shabu shabu, a variety of meat balls and prawn balls etc.

There’s also udon, which got us excited as it seems rare too.
A variety of vegetables to choose from, and many soup ingredients to flavour the soup like corn and carrot.
The variety of choices are pretty great with quite a number of them.
The meat are fresh and tender^^

Things that we didn’t like is that they should have indicated roughly the amount/pieces for each portion of meat/ingredients ordered or provide us with pictures so we can have a gauge of the portion.
There are some ingredients that we didn’t know what they were so having pictures would also be more convenient.

A full dinner we had ;D the price may be a little high though, but its a Japanese buffet steamboat after all.

Norwegian Salmon Smile Feb 03, 2013
Categories : Steaks and Grills

Ordered the Norwegian Salmon!;D

We also added the soup of the day, garlic bread and a drink of my choice to make it a complete meal with an additional of $3.90.

As usual, the soup, garlic bread and drinks are served first.

Delighted to hear that it’s the tomato soup for the day!^^

Really love their tomato soup. Although I would say it isn't really very special about it, it's thick and the tomato taste and ingredient is generous and just right;D

The main dish came around 10minutes later.

Love how their spaghetti and salad is topped with their special mango sauce that makes it more appetizing with the sweet and sour flavour;D

The salmon was fresh and sweet. And there’s a slight grilled taste within, coupled with some of their special sauce, making it nice and juicy ;D

Enjoyable and satisfying meal. Love dining at hot tomato! lol

Mix & Match!;D Smile Feb 03, 2013
Categories : Taiwanese | Chinese Desserts | Bubble Tea/ Tea

First time trying black ball! My friend was like emphasizing on how nice it is and that I definitely would not regret trying.

So I tried and ordered the mix & match at $4.90.

Four choices are: Yam Q, Golden Sweet Potato, Nata d’coco, ice jelly. Their standard base was grass jelly.

There was quite a crowd and it wasn't easy to find seats. Waiting time for the dessert was around 10-15 mins.

Out of all the choices, I loved the ice jelly the most ;D

The ice jelly had a slight lemon taste within which makes it refreshing.

The yam Q is chewy and the yam taste was just right, not too strong lol

The golden sweet potato is sweet and soft.

The nata d’coco was however a little disappointing. I felt it was too sweet.
It tastes similar to the coconut jelly for bubble tea. It’s not too bad though, just that it doesn’t really go well with the rest of the choices.(:

The grass jelly portion was quite a lot, which makes it a little too much to finish :x

Overall still love it ;D good choice for desserts ^^

Lunch at Kungfu paradise  Cry Feb 03, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Kids-Friendly

It was a Saturday and they do not have the student promotion that we used to order.

So I ordered the noodles with chicken chipotle.

Similar to what is shown on the menu, the noodles are like maggi mee.

The sauce for the noodles is a little weird and the sausage isn’t very nice too :/

However, I like the texture of the noodles. And the waiting time for food to be served is quite fast.(:

When we asked for the bill, it took them quite a long time to get the bill to us, and they simply left it on the table and left.

There was quite a crowd so we could understand it. However when we handed the card to them for payment, it took them an even longer time before the bill is returned to us.

We got really impatient for the long waiting time.

They had a real shortage of staff and most of them are inexperienced.

Lucky for a guy staff who is more experienced, he settled the bill for us and even apologized to us.(:

But be prepared for poor service speed/quality for dining there during peak hours.
