Delicious Xiao Long Bao Smile Dec 13, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Dim Sum

Din Tai Fung is famous for their Xiao Long Bao so whenever I am at one of their outlets, I never fail to order their siganture xiao long bao. The meat was thinly wrapped and there was so much juice in each and every single xiao long bao. If it happens that any of the xiao long bao is broken, they will replace it for you free of charge. That is what I call good service.

As it was lunch time, the place was already quite crowded. We immediately placed our orders and although the service staff said it might take about 20 minutes before our food will be served, our food actually came earlier. The food we had was eally good. Thumbs up.

Healthier choice of food Smile Dec 11, 2010

If you prefer a healthier choice for your dinner, then Subway will be a good choice. Today, the promotion offer of subwich was the Cold Cut Trio which costs $4.50 for the sandwich. You can top it up for another $2.70 if I remember correctly for a drink and cookie. Cold Cut Trio happens to be one of my favourite. So decided to get one 6 inch for dinner. There is a variety of bread to choose from and my preference is the Honey Oat. Included will be all the vegetables with Honey mustard sauce. The sandwich was full of vegetables and it seemed that it was going to explore. So nice.

TCC for coffee lovers Smile Dec 07, 2010

The Coffee Connoisseur has 2 oulets in Bugis Junction, the one we went to was not the main outlet. This one is located inside Bugis Junction and has an open concept. We went there for our 2nd part after dinner.

The place was not that crowded and we managed to get a big seating area as our group consists of 8 people. Orders include coffee, ice blended fruit drinks, tea and of course some cakes. I always love to have coffee at The Coffee Connoisseur as the setting and the environment is very comfortable and not too noisy. The coffee was very smooth in texture and you can taste the coffee beans' flavour yet not too overpowering. The cake we had was chocolate cake. It was quite hard though as it was cold. Chocolate taste was very strong and you will like it if you are a chocolate lover. Overall, still quite nice.

You can also try their mains and snacks. Quite tasting. It is a good place to chill up and do some catching up with friends.

Nice traditional biscuits Smile Mar 10, 2011

We were at Chinatown and specially went to look for this bakery as I was told their traditional cakes and biscuits are very nice. I bought a few type (wife biscuits, Sweet bean paste biscuits and salted bean paste biscuits) and I really loved their sweet bean paste biscuits. The taste is very balanced, not too sweet. You can still feel the slightly grinded texture of the beans. The pastry is also very well done, a bit flaky. The salted bean paste bisuit is also quite nice, not too salty. They have many other types of biscuits, maybe next time I will try their water chestnut biscuit.

Breads and cakes Smile Mar 02, 2011

Categories : Bakery

It was time to pack some food home so we went to Bread Talk with the intention to get some bread or pastry. In the end, we got ourselves some danish fruit pastries. The pastries were very nice. The pastry is quite fluffy and there is a balance of sweetness. Even with the fruits and sugar, the sweetness is not overwhelming.

The layout of the outlet is very spacious and bright. Very clean. However, I felt that the service staff still have more room for improvement in terms of service standards.
