Kimchi Fried Rice Smile Sep 28, 2011

Actually I only knew of this restaurant ( the main one ) when I as a fangirl, heard that a Korean band was going there for lunch ( and I actually managed to pass my idol my present and letter personally heh ). After going there then did I realise that they've hosted stars like Se7en and Shinhwa before, which's really quite a big deal. Thus, I decided to visit this one at Taka too to try their Kimchi fried rice and indeed, it's different from the usual. The rice isn't as cluttered together, and the spiciness was just right. The kimchi and soup are quite ordinary, though. Will choose to go to the main restaurant the next time for other authentic Korean dishes~

Was roaming around Raffles Place and I remember Lau Pa Sat as one of the must gos as advised by the older generation. And woah, this is probably the nicest fish porridge I've ever eaten in Singapore. I find it even nicer than the one at Bedok 85 which many rave about. The texture of the porridge itself is extremely smooth, so much so that the first mouthful totally amazed me. Coupled with the sesame oil, it's near heavenly. Though it is considered pricey for a bowl of porridge, it is really worth it.

Halfway to Paradise  Smile Sep 27, 2011

Went there with a half expectant and skeptical attitude due to the mixed reviews I've read, but still willing to try cause I love fruit tarts. Ordered a Mango Banana cause I like both, and it turned out fine! The mango slices were sweet which I'm really thankful for, and I like the last layer of the tart heh. It'd have been nicer if there wasn't so much cream~ Ah and there is a set of 9.90 consisting of a tart and a pot of tea, pretty worth it if you're keen to stay for a long chat or reading - it's quiet on weekdays only though.

This is really awesome! Just writing this is making me have this urge to drink it right now! Honestly, I didn't really want to order this cause it's quite pricey for a milkshake, but I didn't regret it at all. It got really addictive though it was slightly too sweet upon the first mouthful. Very smooth indeed. The metal cup fills to about 1.5 times of the plastic one. A perfect dessert~

Salmon Alfredo  Smile Sep 23, 2011
Categories : Italian | Pasta

Tried their lunch set which is quite worth it; $9.90 for 1 main course, 1 drink and soup. Was a little disappointed when the soup served was just Campbell with a garlic bread the size of half a piece of gardenia bread. However, the Salmon Alfredo (+$1 on top of the usual $9.90) saved the day. The pieces of salmon were rather tender and the alfredo sauce was not too overwhelming. One interesting thing to note is that their Sprite is sweeter than usual, which I really like heh.

Spending per head: Approximately $10.90
